4 ADAMAWA VIGILANTES DOCKED FOR DIVERTING STOLEN ITEMS

Newly established Upper Area Court 4 in Adamawa state has remanded 4 local vigilantes over allegations of diverting stolen items recovered from a suspected armed robber.   Honourable Musa Ibrahim Ulenda, the pioner judge of the Upper Area Court ordered for the remand of the local vigilantes after they pleaded guilty to the alleged offences of criminal conspiracy and theft. The judge later adjourned the matter until November 15th, 2021, following an application by the prosecutor, Seargent Kabiru Abubakar,  The affected local vigilantes are Naziru Usman, 25, Iliyasu Mustapha, 20, Ibrahim Ahmed, 30,  and Yahuza Yakubu, 26. The alleged offences according to Seargent Kabiru, contravened sections 60 and 276 of the state penal code law. Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has announced the suspension of the scheduled Local Government Councils election till further notice. It could be recalled that the State Electoral Body had on the 25th August, 2021, issued 90 days notification for the election of the 21 LGCs to be conducted on the 4th December, 2021. The Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Isa Shettima, in a press release made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Friday, said that the polls will no longer be conducted as scheduled due challenges. Alh. Shettima, disdclosed that the money allocated for the exercise in the 2021, budget is too meagre to organise and conduct the said election. He announced that the preparations by the commission to conduct the LGCs election are suspended so as to give government time to source for supplementary funds. 2 HOUSE WIVES, 3 OTHERS REMANDED FOR STEALING N1.350M PAMPERS IN YOLA

For allegedly stealing and receiving N1.350 million pampers, a Yola Chief Magistrate Court I Admin, has ordered for the remand of 5 accused persons in prison custody. Those remanded include; Hapsat Abdulazeez, 29, and Maryam Aliyu, 17, house wives, Emeka Okoye, 46, a Yola based business man, Augustine Fimba, 30, a security guard and Warzartida Linus, 18. Chief Magistrate Abdullahi Mohammed Digil, ordered their remand pending ruling on their bail application on the 4th November, 2021. Criminal Area Court I in Yola, Adamawa state has convicted and sentenced 2 young men to 1 year in prison each after they were found guilty for criminal conspiracy, theft and public nuisance.. The court has sentenced the 18 year old Nurudeen Abdulkareem and 19 year old Aliyu Sani of Nasarawo ward, Yola North Local Government Area, Adamawa state to 1 year prison each with an option of N50, 000 fine for each. ADHA ADOPTS 5 RESOLUTIONS TO END DESTRUCTION OF FARMS BY BIRDS IN GUYUK LGA

Legislators at the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday, passed 5 point resolutions in order to end destruction of farmlands by queler birds in Guyuk Local Government Area. So far, about 120 rice and guine corn farms were destroyed by thousands of migrating queler birds in 7 districts in the LGA which may likely cause  food insufficiency in the affected communities. According to the Honourable House, the resolutions adopted is to end further destruction of farmlands and see how possible to come to the aid of the affected farmers as earlier suggested by the member representing Guyuk constituency, Hon. Yola Criminal Area Court II in Adamawa state has admitted the Education Secretary of Mubi South Local Government Area, Jibrilla Babale, and 4 others to bail after spending 7 days in prison custody. Jibrilla, and 4 others were remanded in prison for allegedly diverting 800 bags of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) donated for onward distribution to public schools in Mubi South and Mubi North LGAs. Those remanded in prison along side the Education Secretary on Monday last week include; the UNICEF Co-ordinator of Distribution for Mubi South and North LGAs, Mustaspha Mohammed as well as Musa Mahmud, Aliyu Mohammed and Mohammed Yahaya, for diverting and selling 800 bags of UNICEF at the sum of N420, 000. ADHA MOVES TO PASS BILL TO IMPROVE WELFARE OF MEDIA WORKERS

Concerned by the plight of the media workers in Adamawa state, the Legislators of the state House of Assembly have commenced proceedings towards enacting a bill aimed at improving the working of media workers. Already, a bill to that effect sponsored by the member representing Gombi constituency, Hon. Japhet Kefas, has been placed on notice indicating the readiness of the legislators towards passing the bill. The bill is entitled, "a bill for a law to increase the retirement years and other allowences for media workers of the state so as to enhance their condition of the service and to provide for matters incidental thereto". MAN, 27 IN PRISON FOR DEFILING 12 YR OLD BOY IN ADAMAWA

Yola Chief Magistrate Court I Admin in Adamawa state on Monday, remanded a 27 year old man, Adamu Abubakar, in prison for allegedly defiling a 12 year old boy(names withheld). Adamu, was alleged to have forcefully defiled the boy through the anus on the 15th October, 2021, contrary to section 263 of the state penal code law, 2018. ADHA APPROVES N18.746 BILLION FACILITY FOR FINTIRI

Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday, granted approval on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's request to access the whooping N18.746 Federal Government intervention facility. Governor Fintiri, in a letter dated 22nd October, 2021, and sent to the assembly, requested it to grant the approval to enable him access the facility to help cushion the effect of the repayment of the existing FG intervention facilities. MAN BEATS MOTHER, FATHER FOR GIVING HIM ADVICE IN ADAMAWA

A middle age man, Markson Dauda, has appeared before Criminal Area Court II in Yola, Adamawa state for allegedly beating his mother and father for giving him piece of advice. Markson who is currently cooling his heels in prison custody in Yola, was alleged to have ruthlessly assaulted his parents for advising him to quit smoking. The young man was dragged before Hon. Musa Nuhu Garta, led Criminal Area Court II by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, for allegedly assauting his parents which contravened section 239, of the state penal code law. 18 YR OLD GIRL, 2 OTHER KIDNAPPERS WHO DEMANDED N30M RANSOM IN POLICE NET

The operatives of the Adamawa state command attached to SIB have arrested 3 suspected kidnappers including an 18 year old who demanded the sum of N30million ransom on an abducted minor. In its renewed effort towards curtailing crime in Adamawa state, the Police Operatives attached to the Surveillance unit of the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) Yola, have arrested a 3-man criminal gang for theft of Jarma Jimeta's CRV FWD 2020 Jeep. 4 KIDNAPPERS WHO THREATENED 2 OVER N7MILLION ARRESTED

Again, the Operatives of the police command attached to the Intelligent Department have arrested 4 suspected kidnappers terrorising the inhabitants of Shelleng and Yola South LGAs respectively. The operatives have also recovered handsets from the suspects who were apprehended on the 15th September and 15th October, 2021. The suspects include; Farouk Muktar, 40 and Hamza Dahiru, 39, are residents of Shelleng LGA, while Shuaibu Abdullahi, 30, and Saidu Addullahi, 31, hail from Namtari village, Yola south LGA respectively. Adamawa Acting Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, says he committed towards ensuring that the state judiciary is rated one of the best in the country.  Justice Nathan, stated this while inaugurating a 4 Member Verification Committee he had constituted to verify the entire staff of the judiciary at the High Court's conference hall on Thursday. He said: " we are here to see that Adamawa state judiciary is rated one of the best judiciary in the country", saying that judiciary belongs to all of them, and that they must strive to make it perform effectively. He disclosed that on assumption of office, he discovered a lot of problems in judiciary in terms of staffing when compared to the total wage bill of over N200million monthly. He explained that they can only achieve this whenever they are able to checkmate leakages, so that they can have funds to run judiciary effectively.

A man simply identified as Mohammed Sale is currently in police custody for allegedly killing his own daughter, stripping her naked and dumping her dead body in the bush. Mohammed, who is 42 years old and hails from Sabon Pegi in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, Adamawa state, connived with his friend (now at large) where they took his daughter, Aisha Mohammed, into the bush and beat her up with sticks which resulted in her untimely death. It all began when the suspect and father of the deceased was informed by his first wife, Zulei Mohammed, that the late Aisha was not his biological daughter as they got married even when she was pregnant for another man. Justice Nathan Musa, says he committed towards ensuring that the state judiciary is rated one of the best in the country.  Justice Nathan, stated this while inaugurating a 4 Member Verification Committee he had constituted to verify the entire staff of the judiciary at the High Court's conference hall on Thursday. He said: " we are here to see that Adamawa state judiciary is rated one of the best judiciary in the country", saying that judiciary belongs to all of them, and that they must strive to make it perform effectively. He disclosed that on assumption of office, he discovered a lot of problems in judiciary in terms of staffing when compared to the total wage bill of over N200million monthly. He explained that they can only achieve this whenever they are able to checkmate leakages, so that they can have funds to run judiciary effectively.

POLICE ARREST 4 OUT OF 7 KIDNAPPERS OF NGURORE WIDOW, DAUGHTER

The Operatives of the Anti- Kidnapping Unit of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested four(4) notorious and high-profile suspected kidnappers who abducted Hauwa Umaru and her daughter in Ngurore, Yola South LGA. The operatives have also recovered 1 AK-47 Rifle with 16 rounds of lives ammunitions from the suspects. Acting Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Honourable Justice Nathan Musa, on Thursday, inaugurated a 4 Member Committee to embark on verification exercise of the entire staff of judiciary. Those inaugurated to serve in the committee include; Hon. Christie N. Tarfa (DCR Personnel), Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Halilu Chiroma (DCR Probate), Vice Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Bawuro(DCR Procurement), Member, while Barr. Bashiru Musa Santuraki is to serve as Secretary. Adamawa State High Court on Wednesday nullified the congress for Chairmanship of All Progressives Congress(APC), Mubi South Local Government Area. The presiding judge, Honourable Justice Kanyson S. Lawanson, further ordered for fresh congress in the affected LGA within 2 weeks, declaring that the purported congress which produced Alhaji Njobdi Sale Kwaja, is null and void. MAN, 61 DUPES 33 APPLICANTS N4.950M WITH FAKE COLLEGE OF HEALTH NUMAN

A 61 year old Ajiboye Kadmiel of Imbru ward in Numan Local Governmernt Area, Adamawa state has been remanded in a prison custody for allegedly duping 33 applicants the sum of N4.950million.  The Chief Magistrate Court I admin, ordered for the remand of the 61 year old man after he pleaded guilty for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating. Kadmiel, was dragged before the court by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, for allegedly collecting the sum of N150, 000 from the affected applicants under the pretence of registering them into Passion College of Health and Remedial Science, Numan in Adamawa state. ADAMAWA POLICE ARREST 3 CATTLE RUSTLERS, RECOVER GUNS, CATTLE

Operatives of the Adamawa Police Command attached to the State Intelligence Bureau in collaboration with Vigilantes of Pula'aku Association have apprehended 3 suspected cattle rustlers. The operatives also recovered two fabricated locally made guns, two cows, among others from the suspects. The suspects include; a 27 year old Ahmadu Usman, resident of Wuro Gombe, 20 year old Umaru Jauro Bobbo, resident of kauramai village, and 22 year old Umar Sahabo, resident of Gengle village, all in Mayo-Belwa LGA. UNDERAGE GIRLS ASK ADHA TO STOP PARENTS FROM GIVING THEM OUT FOR MARRIAGE

Underage girls in Adamawa State have sought for the House of Assembly's intervention to stop their parents from giving them out for marriage until after completing Secondary School. To this end, the underage girls made appealed to the Honourable Members to enact a legislation prohibiting their fathers, mothers and guardians from forcing them into early marriage.   The representative of the underage girls and a 13 year old JSS 3 Student, Government Day Junior Secondary School, Luggere in Yola North LGA, Amira Abdullahi, made the call at the assembly on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child.
