ADHA Passes Resolutions to End Bachama/Chobo Clashes

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a 3-points resolutions aimed ending Bachama/Chobo clashes in Lamurde LGA, Adamawa state. The resolutions followed the recent clashes between Bachama and Chobo communities in Lamurde LGA. The recent clashes resulted in destruction of property as well as the alleged shooting and killing of 10 women by the soldiers. It is against this backdrop that the assembly, passed resolutions as part of effort towards ending the recurring clashes between the communities. Part of the resolutions passed by the lawmakers include a call on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration to immediately investigate the root cause of the shooting that led to ihe death of the 10 women leaving 23 wounded. The investigation according to the resolution will enable the government identify the perpetrators and prevent future occurrence of the heinous crime against humanity. Adamawa CAN Expresses Sadness, Seeks End to Bachama/Chobo Clashes

Adamawa CAN The Adamawa State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is deeply saddened by the recent resurgence of communal clash between the Bachama and Chobo in Lamurde LGA The recent clash resulted in the loss of lives and property including burning down of households, food items among other valuables. This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the association Adamawa State, Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, and made available to newsmen in Yola. The leadership of the Christian body recalled the time taking to make peace between the two warring communities through the Adamawa State Government, Christian bodies and other well-meaning organizations but, alas the recent needles attacks has set another bad record between the two parties who once lived happily and even intermarry. Adamawa CJ Frees 113 Inmates, Convicts 23 at Mubi, other Prisons

The Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee has discharged a total of 113 inmates as well as convicted 23 at Mubi, Maiha, Hong and Dumne correctional centres. News Platform  The committee chaired by the Chief Judge Adamawa state, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, also reviewed the sentences of 137 and granted bail to 8 inmates during prison decongestion. She discharged 65 inmates, reviewed the sentences of 76, granted bail to 5 and convicted 19 at Mubi and discharged 15 and reviewed the sentences of 21 at Maiha correctional centres respectively. Justice Hafsat discharged 19 inmates at Hong Custodial Centre, granted bail to 3, convicted 3 and reviewed the sentences of 20, and freed 14, convicted 1 and reviewed the sentences of 20 at Dumne correctional centre. I Stole Soft Drinks to Organise Birthday Party-18 Yrs Old Confesses in Adamawa

An 18 years old Aminu Abdulazeez of Bazza community in Michika LGA Adamawa state has confessed stealing soft drinks in order to organise a befitting birthday party. News Platform  Abdulazeez confessed that he had carted away half crates of nutri milk and Dudu so as to celebrate his  birthday with his friends and well wishers in the community. According to him, he was not lucky as he was trailed and apprehended while preparing for the event. He made the confession when he appeared before the Adamawa state Chief, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman led Jail Delivery Committee at Mubi Correctional Centre on Tuesday. Abdulazeez landed at the Mubi correctional on the 28th November, 2025 sequel to his arraignment before Area Court I Bazza where he was tried for the offence. Suspend and Prosecute Soldiers who Killed our Women-PDBDA Tells Army

The Pene Da Bwatiye Development Association (PDBDA) Worldwide has condemned in strong terms the shooting and killing 7 women in Lamurde LGA Adamawa state. However, the Development Association has called on the Nigerian Army to identify, suspend its personnel who allegedly killed 7 innocent women in the LGA. This is contained in a release signed by the General Secretary, Mr. Emmannuel Pwakavi Bapatu and made available to newsmen. Man Jailed 2 Yrs for Stealing 20 Crates of Beer in Adamawa

A 30 years old man identified as Ibrahim Usman, has been convicted and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for the offence of theft. News Platform  The Upper Area Court Hong in Adamawa state presided by Hon. A. Hayatu, sentenced the convict for the offence. Usman along side others currently at large carted away no fewer than 20 crates of beer at Wuro Bokki in Hong LGA, where he was apprehended and charged to court. The convict has been serving his jail term at Hong correctional centre with correctional number A1101/2024. On his appearance before the Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Chief Judge Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, the convict confirmed the commission of the crime. Justice Hafsat's committee declined to review the sentences of the convict, saying  sentences are running concurrently. The committee visited the correctional centre to decongest it. The centre has 94 inmates instead of 50 based on its capacity.

NSCDC Officer Jailed 7 Years for Forgery, Corrupt Advantage

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has secured the conviction of one Hassan Abdullahi, a Superintendent of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for offences bordering on certificate forgery and corrupt advantage. Delivering judgement on the matter, Hon. Justice E. Okpe of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Gudu, Abuja, found the defendant guilty on a two-count charge preferred against him by the Commission. In the course of the trial, ICPC’s Prosecutor, Mr. Hamza Sani had led evidence before the court on how the convict dishonestly presented a forged Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) of Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu, Kebbi State, to the NSCDC in December 2010 for the purpose of career advancement.  The offence contravenes Section 366 and is punishable under Section 364 of the Penal Code Act. The court accordingly sentenced the convict to two (2) years imprisonment or a fine of ₦2,000,000....

As part of commitment to complemeting Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's effort in improving education sector, the Member representing Michika constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, has distributed 20,000 exercise books as well as textbooks to students in his constituency. The textbooks which comprise Mathematics, English language as well as exercise books were distributed free of charge to thousands of pupils/students across primary and secondary schools in Michika LGA. The effort of Lawmaker who is also the Chief Whip of the assembly is aimed boosting the educational sector in his constituency. Hon. Moses Yerima Zah explained that he decided to embark on the distribution of the basic instructional materials to the schools considering their need, and urged the beneficiaries to dedicate themselves to studies in order to brighten their future. ADHA Legislates on Bill to Provide Electricity for Adamawa

Adamawa State House of Assembly has taken steps towards enacting a law aimed at providing electricity for the citizens in Adamawa state. Already, a bill for a law to provide a comprehensive legal and institutional framework for electricity services in Adamawa State on Tuesday, scaled first and second reading at the assembly. The bill tagged "the Adamawa State Electricity Bill 2025, seeks to repeal the Gongola Basin Energy Development Company Law of 2009 and establish a modern framework for electricity generation, transmission, distribution, supply, trading, and the protection of consumer rights within the state".  Likewise, the bill is meticulously designed to create a functional electricity market for Adamawa state. Just In: ADHA Asks Fintiri to Suspend Madagali LGC Chair for Closing Schools

Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday, urged Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to suspend the Executive Chairman Madagali LGC, Hon. Simon Sashi for allegedly closing public schools. News Platform  The assembly urged Fintiri to suspend him for 1 month pending the outcome of investigation to be carried out by the joint committees on education and LG Affairs of the assembly. Hon. Simon allegedly shutdown all public schools in the LGA without the consent of the relevant authorities. The suspension followed a motion to that effect by the Majority Leader of the assembly and Member representing Demsa Constituency, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided the sitting, directed the Clerk to the assembly to communicate the recommendations of the assembly to the Governor.
