INEC SHOULD RESPECT THE WILL OF MAJORITY WHO ARE WITH GOV FINTIRI

The recent revelation of an alleged attempt to rig the Adamawa State Gubernatorial election in favor of the APC candidate, Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani, by the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Hudu Yunusa, is a disturbing development that undermines the integrity of the electoral process.

The leaked audio recording of Yunusa instructing an election official, Hammajam Mohammed, to rig the election in favor of Binani is a serious allegation that must be thoroughly investigated.

The electoral process is a crucial aspect of democracy, and any attempt to manipulate the outcome of an election undermines the very essence of democratic governance.

The independence and impartiality of the electoral umpire is essential in ensuring that the electoral process is free, fair, and transparent. Any attempt to interfere with this process undermines the credibility of the entire electoral system and erodes the trust of the people in the electoral process.

Therefore, it is essential that the relevant authorities investigate this allegation thoroughly and ensure that those responsible are held responsible and accountable.

It is also important that INEC takes measures to strengthen its internal mechanisms and procedures to prevent any attempt to manipulate the electoral process in the future.

In any democratic setting, the will of the people is paramount, and it is the responsibility of the electoral umpire to ensure that the electoral process is free, fair, and transparent.

This requires that every vote counts and that the outcome of the election reflects the will of the majority.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has a crucial role to play in ensuring that the electoral process is transparent and unbiased, unlike what is obtained.

In the case of the Adamawa State Gubernatorial election, it is crucial that INEC conducts a transparent re-run election in areas where the election was inconclusive. This will enable the people of Adamawa State to choose their leaders without fear of manipulation or disenfranchisement.

It is important to note that Abuja based politicians are doing everything humanly possible to rig out our workaholic Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in favour of APC’s Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani.

It is also important that as citizens of Adamawa State, we wont fold our hands and allow these so-called Abuja politicians to toil with the will of the majority. We have the right to vote for who we want to lead us and as such should be allowed to exercise our fundamental rights.

Unlike what was obtained in the past, we now have a Governor everyone looks up to as the project master and the grand master planner of the great Adamawa State and won’t want to trade it with any other person.

Majority of Adamawa citizens have decided to continue with the fresh Air Government, hence the majority of votes polled by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the polls

I am calling on the main opposition party and their supporters to respect the outcome of the election and avoid any form of violence or disruption. The re-run should be a peaceful and democratic process that reflects the will of the people.

In conclusion, the Adamawa State Gubernatorial election highlights the critical need for the electoral umpire to respect the will of the people. INEC must remain independent, unbiased, and transparent in the discharge of its duties, and it must ensure that every vote counts.

The people of Adamawa State have the right to choose their leaders through a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, and all stakeholders must work together to ensure that this right is protected.

The Exco revealed that they are conscious of the laid down procedure for such an action as contained in the party constitution, saying that it was an act of mischief makers and lack of genuine interest for the success of the party in the forthcoming Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

"We stand bold to state that the said action is completely fraud and a serious act of deceit by the authors and actors. Suffice it to say that such act is totally bereft of reason as it does not portray genuine love for the party particularly at this critical period of elections". It added.

"If not for because of mischief, it is well known fact that Engr.Adamu Samaila, had in several fora after the election of 25th February stated openly that he did not give Hon.Ndikashe N20million".

" Eng Samaila, retrieved his money when he discovered that the party had been given another N20million from PCC. When he discovered that the PCC money was not giving to him, he then sent some money to him with specific directive". It explained.

It further noted thus: "Let it be made clear here that to our knowledge, the party Chairman, Ndikashe Mariko had not chosen a single polling unit agent out of the 170 PUs in Numan LGA".

It disclosed that none of the EXCO members of ward 1, nor the stakeholders can claim ignorance or pretend he or she does not know the long standing feud and faction created in Numan by the House of Assembly Candidate, Hon.Mrs. Sodom Tayedi Daniel.

It further stated that her action nearly cause the breakdown of law and order during the Congresses which produced the leadership of the party both at the LGA and ward levels in Numan LGA.

NUJ REFUTES REPORTS ON FINTIRI'S ENDORSEMENT FOR 2ND TERM

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State Council has refuted news report making round that it has endorsed Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for 2nd term.

The council clarified that the report that the NUJ had endorsed Fintiri is not true, and urged the general public to disregard the same as it was an error.

According to the council, NUJ as a professional union, apolitical and watchdog of the society is neutral in all its affairs, insisting that it does not take sides with any political party.

This is contained in a communique issued at the end of an emergency State Executive Council (SEC) meeting on Monday, and signed by the Chairman of the Communique Committee, Padio Phineas.

It said that the NUJ had observed that its revered neutral standing was drawn into partisanship during an endorsement of Governor Fintiri, by some groups in Adamawa state.

It added that ordinarily the NUJ should not have responded to a piece of news emanating from the event but for the sake of clarity and nothing else.

"While the NUJ holds no grudges against those who attempted to drag our non-partisan professional group into political partisanship, we however wish to state that by our constitutional mandate, we cannot be seen to be involved or taking sides with any political party, whatsoever". It further clarified.

"The public should therefore note that the event at Lelewal Motel hosted by the Institute for Governance and Leadership Studies in Africa (IGLSA) invited the NUJ as as critical stakeholder in the development of democracy and not as a group to add voice to its endorsement drive". It said.

It called on all political parties to carry out their voter drive with decorum and respect to the laws of the land, and prayed for a peaceful governorship and house of assembly elections.
