ADHA Approves Participation of Adamawa in FAAC Programme

Adamawa State House of Assembly has approved participation of Adamawa State Government in the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, Receivables Discounting Programme for infrastructure financing. The approval followed the consideration of a letter sent to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and read at the plenary by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley. APC Declares Tangwami Winner of Adamawa South Primary Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Committee for Adamawa Southern Zone has declared Chief Felix B. Tangwami as the winner of the party’s senatorial primary election. Announcing the results in Numan on Monday, the Returning Officer of the election, Usman H. Mapeo, said the primary election was conducted successfully across 9 LGAs including Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye, Toungo, Guyuk and Shelleng. According to him, the total number of registered voters across the nine LGAs stood at 275,704, while 198,676 voters were accredited for the exercise. A total of 187,675 votes were cast during the primary election. The breakdown of the votes scored by the aspirants showed that Chief Felix B. A middle age man identified as Abubakar Mohammed in Yola, Adamawa State has been remanded in prison custody for the alleged offence of buying stolen items. News Platform  The defendants were remanded at the Correctional Centre by the magistrate court presided by M. A. Adamu, and refused to admit them to bail. The Adamawa State Police Command has arraigned 23 out of 73 suspects apprehended in Mubi for various offences. It could be recalled that a joint security operation conducted in Mubi and environs led to the arrest of 73 suspects for various offences. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, made this known in a release made available to News Platform on Saturday. Court Sends 16 to Prison over Bachama, Chobo Crisis in Adamawa

The Chief Magistrate Court I sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has remanded 16 persons in prison custody in connection to clashes between Bachama and Chobo communities. News Platform  The defendants include Naslan Falana, Doranzi Ishaya, Classon Misali, Bulus Misali, Tanamoro Joseph, Jethro Jonah, Silas Bitrus, Maxwell Yohanna, Jackson Williams and Enoch Ibrahim. Other defendants remanded include Abba Danladi, Godwin Alagi, Ajayi Ephraim, Jaspher Solomon, Jasmine Irmiya and Musa Isreal. They were arraigned before the court presided by M. A. Adamu, for the criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance, unlawful possession of firearms and terrorism contrary sections 60, 80, 274, of the penal code of Adamawa state, 2018.
