THE ADAMAWA STATE JUDICIAL RIGMAROLE- George Kushi

Within the last twenty four hours, the Adamawa State Election petition tribunal has experienced a back and forth situation where two directives have been given regarding its sitting in Yola. One directive transfered the tribunal sitting to Abuja and a current directive has rescinded the decision ordering that sitting should continue in Yola.

To this effect, Adamawa people  have  continued to live in total bewilderment due to the in predictability of very desperate people that see power as a means in itself and are willing to do anything to grab it.

Not contented with the attempt to seize power in an electoral coup d'etat that was foiled,Aisha Dahiru has taken the world by a surprise detour to Abuja to prosecute her foolhardy battle to become governor through  " wujja wujja"(by any means, hook or crook). That is how far the desperadoes can go. According to her counsel ,Adamawa  is no longer safe for her to stay and and seek redress. One is won't to wonder if She is more unsafe where she claims to be so loved as to be "voted" as governor.

Is it not and irony that Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri ,who is supposed to be the" loser" ( as according to them) , is moving freely ,hailed and hugged by the people she fears.

Binani has got us wondering about how she intends to rule over us with fear. Whilst expressing her horror for us and trusting her safety to those in far away Abuja. She claims to be loved enough to be elected as governor. What duplicity?

For sure Binani knows that she did not win the election in Adamawa. She knows that her recalcitrance had invited the ire of more people in the state than when she started out on an errant move to snatch the election by employing foul means.

Now that it has become clear to her that she cannot win elections, she intends to employ a third party, far away from a home she fears to judicially steal herself into Government House, Yola.

The onus of combatting this unwholesome act rest on Adamawa state citizens that must stand as one to condemn Binani's despicable conduct of taking a domestic problem abroad. If she is no longer safe here at home, she might as well relocate to Abuja where she can be assured of her safety. Only a fool leaves his home to seek justice and succor amongst strangers.

A person that is loved at home does not run out of his family compound to seek justice. If she is so loved in Adamawa as to be elected governor, she might as well have stayed around with her" teeming supporters" and weather the storm instead of trying to have the tribunal sitting away fro Yola.

Binani knows that she did not win the election. She knows that she has lost whatever honor she has at home and has therefore gone to Abuja, where she should be singing "hakkuna matata" instead of chasing the wind.

If Binani is not safe in Yola, from where does she expect to govern the state if she had won the election? From Abuja?

Her Quixotic move has hit the rocks, once again confirming that her hopeless case(s) will bear no fruits.

Madam Binani should brace up to the fact that her dream cannot be realised this time around.

The  collective forces of the masses  arrayed against her cannot permit her to occupy Government House,Yola.

For you to be an Excellency you must win  excellently.

AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR AHMADU UMARU FINTIRI OF ADAMAWA STATE

Your Excellency,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. Once again, congratulations on your successful re-election for a second term. This is evident that Adamawa people are not in a hurry to let you go, most especially when there is more to do for the upliftment of the state.

I write to you with great concern about the time of opening of the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market in Adamawa State. The current time of opening, which is 9am, often goes beyond 9am and sometimes close to 10am. I believe this issue is worthy of your attention as early opening of the market has numerous benefits.

First of all, early opening of the market will create a more conducive business environment in the state. This will help create a better atmosphere for traders and buyers alike. As Adamawa is becoming the business hub in the northeast, this means there will be more opportunities for people to buy what they need in a timely manner without having to wait in long hours until the market opens.

Secondly, an early opening of the market will encourage local businesses to grow faster. This will in turn spur economic growth and development of the state. With these businesses comes more jobs which can go a long way in reducing unemployment in the state.

Thirdly, an early opening of the market will mean more productive use of time for the traders and staff at the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market. This means that there will be more efficient use of time which will result in higher efficiency and profitability for the market.

I am compelled to write you again on this subject, as previous observations where still prevalent, and it aches my heart to see buyers and sellers waiting for long before the market gates are open to them.

Adamawa should take a queue from other northern states vis a vis how trades and businesses thrive.

I pray this request is swiftly considered for the benefit of all.

Accept the assurances of my highest regards.

Peter Cheman Koti,

Koti, Song LGA.

THE MACABRE DANCE OF THE JIMETA CRITICAL STAKEHOLDERS- George Kushi

Evidently, the self acclaimed" critical stakeholders " of Jimeta are making a mess of themselves. Their unwitting utterances against the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Bashiru Ahmad, should at the least  be made by a juvenile politician. The elections have come and gone, yet they think this is the right time to apportion blame.

This is ridiculous. What they are doing is akin to a midwife strangling a baby at birth but after discovering that the baby had  survived started advising the mother how she should further nurse the child.

The conspirators in Jimeta were myopic to have conceived a plan to fold their hands and see Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri lose Jimeta just to prove that they are in charge. Two months before the elections,it was in the grapevine that Binani will win. The assumption was that they would make a mixed grill of PDP at the presidential level and APC at the gubernatorial level. With this they expected to have a say at both levels. But that was not to be. Fintiri the comeback kid also known as the indomitable overcomer made it. It took them quite sometime to realise that things will not go their way hence the turnaround and the vicious slander against Dr. Bashiru Ahmad.

Out of envy they left him alone to treat the streets of Jimeta in a bid to ensure success for the PDP. But a clueless bunch of "critical stakeholders",that folded their hands are now up from their slumber while the battle raged proferring ideas as to how a government they did not help at the polls should be run. Is it not foolish to come up with such an idea when their plan was to see the PDP lose the governorship in a stupid bid to prove how powerful they are? If Fintiri had lost, this bunch of clowns would have been at the forefront flexing their inadequate political skeletons and proclaiming how they helped the APC win. They would have gone out to declare their indispensability in the Adamawa political equation. Now that reality has dawned on them that they are very much dispensable, they have come around to see what they can make out of the situation.

This much is part of the hypocrisy of this bunch that wants to reap where they did not sow. Yeah, they ensured that Fintiri lost Jimeta in a very questionable manner. That should be enough to massage their ego as election fraudsters . Yet ,not satisfied they now changed gears to blame the person they relentlessly sabotaged from bringing on  the much needed victory in Yola North. Having failed,it appears by their recent moves that they know that the next four years will be hard on them. They know that an abrupt about turn is the only thing that can ensure their survival in the next four years hence this campaign of calumny to place one of theirs as the SSG. It is a disgrace that people that developed a "siddon look" attitude in the heat of the battle , people that did not identify with the PDP when all hands should be on deck are the ones clamoring for attention from the same person they betrayed.

The truth is that the "forum" they represent is of no political consequence and they should tuck their tails between their legs and disappear. Their "intensive deliberation " as they claim is nothing but an afterthought of how to survive as a class that contributed nothing to the PDP victory.

The PDP in Adamawa state and His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri know everyone's role and where they stood in the most trying moments. Ordinary citizens that felt the pangs of labor that birthed victory for the people,PDP and democracy know those that were on their side. No one is fooled by those carpetbaggers appearing at the end of the battle for booty.

The long and the short of the story is that those that did not labor in the enterprise should keep mum and peacefully give way to those that did their best to maintain sanity even if they could not fully deliver due to the medlesom  interference of fifth columnist. Those that facilitated and abetted a grand rigging should be made to understand that  their worst did not prevail over the the good intentions of the people of Adamawa.

As the drama comes to a close, one cannot help but remember the great maxim that good will always prevail over evil. The plot conceived by vile people has failed. What the government and people of Adamawa should do is to shut their ears to the wolves baying at the moon.

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!!!!

COURT DISCHARGES CHIEF JOEL MADAKI OF N450 MONEY LAUNDERING

The Federal High Court Yola Division on Tuesday, discharged the former Chairman of the Peoples' Democratic Party(PDP), Adamawa State chapter, Chief Joel Madaki, of N450 million money laundering case against him.

The court presided by Hon. Justice A. M. Anka, discharged Chief Madaki, an Elders Statesman of all the 4 count charge boredering conspiracy and money laundering.

Meanwhile, the court has ordered Chief Felix Tangwami to prepare and enter his defence, saying prima facie was established.

Justice Anka, discharged Chief Joel Madaki, in his ruling on no case submission separately filed by Chief Joel Madaki and Chief Felix Tangwami, joined as 1st and 2nd defendants respectively.

He held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has failed woefully to establish prima facie case against Chief Madaki and discharged him accordingly.

The 1st and 2nd defendants in their separate no case submission dated the 17th and 31 October, 2022 respectively through their Counsels, A. T. Shehu and Sule J. Abul, urged the court to discharge them as no prima facie was established against them.

The EFCC has arraigned the PDP Chieftains before the court on 4 count charge on the 4th December, 2018, where the defendants pleaded not guilty to the 4 count charge preferred against them.

It alleged that Chief Madaki and Amb. Hassan Adamu (now at large) sometimes in March 2015, at Yola, did conspire amongst themselves to accept cash payment of the sum N450 million.

It further alleged that the duo accept the money from One Abdulfatai Yunusa, of Fidelity Bank, Adamawa State, which sum exceeded the amount authorized by law.

It averred that Chief Joel Madaki Amb. Hassan Adamu and Felix Tagwami sometimes in March 2015, in Yola, did conspire amongst themselves to make cash payment of the sum of N439, 940, 000).

According to EFCC, the defendants thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 18 (1) (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (amended) Act, 2012.

Reacting on the court's ruling, the PDP Chieftain, Chief Joel Madaki, said that some people conspired to trap him but God has vindicated him.

He said he had since forgiven anyone who planned anything evil against him, and thanked the judge for doing justice to the case, as well as his Lead Counsel, A. T Shehu, for his ensuring that justice is done.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE IGP AND THE DG DSS IN NIGERIA

PROTEST ON THE BIASE HANDLING OF INVESTIGATION OF THE ADAMAWA FAKE GOVERNORSHIP RESULT DECLARED BY REC YUNUSA ARI HUDU

As a law abiding group of Adamawa citizens, we want to address you about worrisome events in  our state, particularly issues concerning activities involving police arrests of innocent people purportedly involved in the aftermath of the supplementary elections following Yunusa Hudu's bungling of the process that almost culminated in total breakdown down of law and order.

The despicable conduct of Hudu and the collaboration of Aisha Dahiru Binani in trying to stage a coup and deny the people of Adamawa a government of their choice seems to be receiving less attention than it should. In a glaring case of felony, misrepresentation of facts and total disregard to the requirements of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The police, the DSS and other security agencies have shown little or no interest in bringing the suspects to book but have embarked on witch-hunting concerned citizens that showed interest in salvaging a bad situation created by Hudu when innocent people were mistaken for the fugitive culprit Hudu who was shielded in escaping from the law by those that should have arrested him.

On this issue ,we demand that those that helped him to escape be brought to book. In this case, the DSS,Nigeria Police and Civil Defence authorities that aided him should be made to produce the culprit,Hudu.

Hudu could not have disappeared from these agencies that escorted him but up till date could not account for his whereabouts. These accomplices should tell Nigerians, which plane he boarded and where it flew to . Yola  International Airport Authorities  should supply the destination the plane logged in to fly to while the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency should furnish the details of what direction the plane took of to.

Aishatu Dahiru Binani's criminal acceptance of a clear fraud in collaboration with a mercenary NTA crew that was ready at hand and aired it live should be prosecuted and punished.

We also want to make it clear that the security services must do all possible to expose some of their personnel whose  activities are compromising the services. The issue of stupendous amounts shared out to them should be thoroughly investigated and punished.

The issue of selective  arrest as is being carried out by the DSS and the police is questionable as most of those arrested are members of the PDP that have no direct links to what happened to the commissioners mistaken for the culprit, Hudu. Even a case of sympathising with one of the victims has been portrayed as evidence of culpability.

A lot of things need to be addressed. For one,the continuous role of the service chiefs without being answersarable to the Chief Security  Officer of the  state  reeks of complicity between the service chiefs whose inactions of not arresting known offenders has kept citizens wondering on what is amiss.

Why should only people close to the winner of the election be the ones arrested? This brings to question the neutrality of the chiefs in the affair and their actions as efforts to conceal their suspicious role in the attempt to miscarry justice.

It is a well known fact that fugitive Hudu could not have made it out of Yola without the support of accessory criminals. The continuous flight of Hudu and inability of the people that escorted him to an unknown destination is an act of criminality that is being toyed with. If the world is to take us seriously, law enforcement agents should not be seen as abettors of crime they are supposed to be fighting. They should also not be seen trying to victimise citizens that stand against injustice.

In a sane society, the very top of the service should suspend them ,initiate investigations over their complicity in the affair and take disciplinary action against them and  hand them over for criminal prosecution. Anything short of this is injustice.

Another annoying aspect is that, the suspects in this case of felony are allowed to superinten the  investigation in which they are a party. It is baffling that it has not been deemed fit to make room for fresh people look into the issue. That is why instead of pursuing recognized suspects, they are casting the spotlight elsewhere as a diversion.

It is strange that flimsy accusation by APC members are taken more seriously than real criminal cases. From the outset, the Police,DSS and Civil Defence authorities in Adamawa state appear to have been haunting the governor and his aides.

On election day,the governor's situation room was stormed in a commando like style. Binani was a spectator to the affair. How she became a spectator was not by chance, she was  part of the operation. If anything incriminating had been found they would have nailed Fintiri.

They made accusations about the commissioners from Abuja visiting Government House Yola, ostensibly to aide Fintiri. Can there be a secret from the DSS about who enters Government House? Now that they claim the professor was manhandled by Fintiri's aides,it should only mean that Fintiri's aides do not know them otherwise they would not have beaten their own.

On the Deputy Director of the DSS,one can only guess what he went to City Green Hotel to do. Who was he supposed to see there?Who was he supposed arrest there? His appearance there should be questioned. For all purposes,Hudu has  been out of Yola when he went there.

In fact, all the security chiefs In Adamawa have questions to answer. They should be made to produce Hudu and account for where he disappeared to and what he was doing all along. If they cannot account for an important person like that in their custody ,they should be sacked.

Nigeria cannot afford to maintain incompetent officers that cannot effectively discharge their duties, protect the laws of the land and act honorably.

We therefore of the Admamwa Concerned Citizens for Justice and Peace wish to demand that that :

1. The security Chiefs should forthwith stop selective arrests and victimization of the opposition PDP members.

2. Unconditional release of those innocently arrested

3.pursue with vigour and arrest those criminal characters who abetted Hudu in his criminal act of falsifying the election result.

4.An immigrant explanation as to how Hudu escaped/ disappeared and punish all those that facilitated the act.

5. Ensure the acts of the Security agencies under the suspect officer that almost cause a total breakdown of law and order out of the operational field so that they don't interfere with the investigations to be held.

We wish to assert our position of remaining committed to peace. It is our wish that all measures will be taken to put things in the right perspectives and ensure peace and concord in Adamawa State.

Thank You

Signed:

ADAMAWA CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE AND PEACE.
