COURT SACKS ADHA LEGISLATOR, DISMISSES SUITS AGAINST 2 OTHERS

The Federal High Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has sacked the Member representing Mubi South Constituency, Hon. Musa Umar Bororo. NEWS PLATFORM.

The court presided by Hon. Justice I. S. Kogo, has ordered the member to vacate his seat with immediate effect, since he had left the party which brought him to power.

Hon. Bororo, was sacked for cross carpeting from the opposition All Progressives Congress(APC) to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Justice Kogo, however dismissed suits filed against the members representing Mubi North and Fufore/Gurin, Hon. Shuaibu Dan Musa and Hon. Shuaibu Babas, respectively.

The court dismissed the suits against the 2 legislators for failure of the plaintiff, the All Progressives Congress(APC) to prove its case against them.

The leadership APC dragged the 3 legislators to court on the 21st October,  2022, for dumping the party to the PDP, and asked it to determine whether the Assembly is not bound by the law to declare the seats of the trio vacant.

According to APC, there was no crisis in the party as at the time the affected members defected to the ruling party, saying that they refused to vacate their seats as provided by law.
