ADAMAWA PDP CHAIR, A. T. SHEHU SLAMS UMAR ARDO, DESCRIBES HIM AS TENANT

Adamawa PDP Chairman, A.T Shehu has slammed Umar Ardo, describing him as a tenant running his mouth and threatening to give quit notice to the house owner.

The Adamawa state chairman of the people’s Democratic Party A.T Shehu has described the faction chairman of the reform PDP in Adamawa Umar Ardo as a “political wanderer, who does not deserve the attention of sane minds.”

The state chairman said it was funny that Ardo, who has been suspended from the party in Adamawa state for anti-party activities, was accusing Governor Umaru Fintiri of planning to destroy the PDP by convening the party stakeholders meeting without consulting him  and others.

According to Shehu, it was shameful that Ardo, who has tried in vain severally to bring any government in power to it knees without success and still wandering in the wilderness of politics, took Governor Fintiri’s predecessor to court in 2015 and was branded as a meddlesome interloper by the supreme court, subsequently went ahead to work against the party in the last general election want to be part of the stakeholders meeting in Adamawa knowing fully well he is no longer a member of the PDP.

Despite suffering a heavy blow as the apex court threw out his petition, Ardo has resortted to verbal attacks and accusation against the government of the day till the end of time has again resulted in the same tactics of aggression against the present administration, thinking it will be business as usual.

The state party chairman likened Umar Ardo’s statement to that of a tenant running his mouth and threatening to give quit notice to the Landlord.

Shehu said the party is waiting to see how Umar Ardo, who is  under suspension in the PDP, will be cleared to contest any  elective position in contravention of Section 8(A and B) and Section 9 of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).

He said:” it is funny that a man like Umar Ardo, who enjoyed all the privileges that PDP can offer, wants to sabotage the party in Adamawa state due to unbridle interest is the one sermonising about loyalty and commitment to the PDP.

“The earlier Umar Ardo and his co-travellers realise that the Governor is the party leader in the state, the better for him and those hallucinating about being   stakeholders of the party in Adamawa, that must be invited before any discussion regarding the party can be held.

“If the party in Adamawa state is destroyed as a plan by Umar Ardo and those that do not wish this administration well, will there be anything left in the PDP by now that he will want to come and superintend over?

“If Gov. Fintiri did not destroy PDP during the four years that the party was in opposition in Adamawa, is it a Political Wanderer like Umar Ardo that will now know who wants to destroy the PDP?”

PMB's MARKET MONEY TEARS FAMILY APART AS HUBBY DRAGS WIFE TO COURT OVER #20,000

President Muhammad Buhari's generosity to local women who are beneficiaries of his market money policy may have been in good fate, but unknown to to him that his generosity is tearing families apart as a man in Yola, Adamawa state has dragged his lovely wife to court, demanding for an account on #20,000 she collected.

The husband, Babagida Jibrilla, has dragged his wife, Aisha Mohammed to Civil Area Court I in Yola where he prayed the court to order his wife to pay him the sum of #20,000 she collected for January, February and March this year.

He told the court that initially, they had been sharing the money with his wife when she started benefiting from Buhari's gesture, saying that whenever she collects the stipends, she gives him 50 percent out of it.

He alleged that his wife had collected the sum of #20,000 at the end of March, but refused to declare the money or give him his own share, and urged the court to compel her to give him the whole sum because the account is bearing his name.

The complainant also joined his father in-law, Mohammed Buba in the suit as 2nd defendant where he alleged that his father in law had refused to allow his wife to return to her matrimonial home for the past 16 months.

He informed the court that for the past 16 months his wife had been with her parents without any cogent reason, and that all effort to make her return to his house failed woefully, and asked the court to order his father in law to allow his wife return to her matrimonial home.

But the wife denied the liability, saying that it is not true that the money comes in his name, explaining that the stipends is being given to women to boost their business activities, and that it is her portrait that is on the account and not his.

Aisha informed the court that the union had been contracted about 5 years ago, but could not produce fruits of the womb.

On his part, the second defendant vehemently denied refusing to allow his daughter to return to her matrimonial home, stating that the allegation levelled against him by the husband is far from the truth, and that he is ready to prove to the court that it is not true.

NGILLARI CAUTIONS POLITICIANS AGAINST 2023, TALKS TOUGH ON INSECURITY, YOUTH

Erstwhile Governor of Adamawa state, Bala James Ngillari, has observed that it is too early for politicians to begin to agitate for 2023 elections, but rather those in governance should pool their weight towards investing in skills acquisition for young people with a view to changing their psyche as a pivot to fight insecurity.

According to him, the current spate of kidnapping, armed banditry, farmer and herder clashes, Boko Haram, activities of Shila boys and other social vices bedeveilling the society must be the main concern of those in position of authority, and should strive assiduously towards curtailing them for peace and development in the society.

He advocated for the involvement of the traditional institutions in fighting insecurity in the society, saying that appropriate logistics support should be advanced to the institutions, and added that the issue of security challenges should be approached holistically.

Ngillari who was speaking at a town hall meeting in Yola, the Adamawa state capital on Saturday, said that as far as he is concerned, it is premature for him to begin to talk about future elections, saying that he will talk about it, and whether he has interest to contest for any elective position when the time is ripe.

The former Governor informed the gathering that he cross carpeted from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the opposition All Progressive Congress(APC) for better accommodation, saying that he wants to be where he will be recognised and accorded attention he deserves.

He further stated that everybody wants to be recognised as human being in life, saying that he was not only the Governor, Deputy Governor, Member of the National Assembly, but Member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, and that he deserves a better recognition for that in his former party.

When fielding question on lack of continuity in the act of governance more especially in the country, he told the gathering that every government that comes to power has its preferences, pointing out that it is left for the government in power to consolidate on the achievements recorded by the past government or not.

He lamented that hardly in Nigeria for those coming to power to continue where their predecessors stopped, but rather they will want to start something afresh, saying that if he were in government today, he will accord premium attention on skills acquisition for the youths to drastically reduce poverty and idleness.

He said that in his humble view, establishing skills acquisition centers is the best way to go with a view to empowering young stars to become self reliant in the society, saying that if all the students that are graduating from schools are thinking of getting government's job, they are getting it wrong, explaining that tomorrow's world will be a world where people with talents can survive.

According to him, the first set of youths who graduated from their government's skills acquisition centers were all employed by Aliko Dangote, saying that training the youth on carpentry, soap making, tailoring, catering among several other fields remain the best way to go if actually there is political will to fight poverty and idleness.

On whether he was convicted or not, the ex-Governor averred that he stood trial in court on several count charges not because he diverted or embezzled public money, but because of some vested interest, saying that he has been discharged and acquitted accordingly.

He disclosed that if everybody will start doing what is right, the society will be a better place for all, stating that people want a better change, but they do not want to change themselves.

During the town hall meeting, several participants asked questions on topical issues ranging insecurity, economy, youth and women empowerment programmes, policies and programme of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration and on whether he has interest in contesting election or not and the way forward for most especially Adamawa and Nigeria.

The event which was hosted and anchored by Peter Chema Koti, attracted participants not only from Yola, the state capital but across Local Government Areas in the state who pleaded with the organisers to continue to organise such interactive sessions so as to enable them deliberate on issues affecting the state and the nation at large.
