PEACE: TRADITIONAL RULER CAUTIONS CLERICS ON DIVISIVE SERMONS

A custodian of traditional institution in Adamawa State, has vowed to pursue peaceful coexistence within his domain.

Alhaji Inuwa Baba Paris, who is the District Head of Jimeta, in Yola North Local Government Area, disclosed this to the newly elected CAN officials in Yola, the state capital.

The Monarch emphasised that Christians and Muslims were brothers, hence the need for both religious groups to coexist in harmony.

He louded the bridge building efforts of the state CAN Chairman, who doubles as the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza.

He noted that Bishop Mamza has epitomised true leadership for his tireless efforts at peace building.

Baba Paris, enjoined the newly elected Yola North CAN officials, to join the vanguard for building an egalitarian society.

He also charged them not to allow themselves to be used by politicians for achieving primordial goals.

The District Head, charged religious leaders generally, to resist the temptation of preaching divisive sermons.

Instead, he counselled them to deploy their exaulted potions as opinion moulders, to preach peace and harmonious coexistence.

Alhaji Inuwa Baba Paris, equally louded the urban  renewal strides of the present administration, under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

He thanked the governor for carrying out many developmental projects within his domain; to include the ongoing construction of underpass and flyover bridges in the state capital.
