The Adamawa State Police Command says it is deploying no fewer than 1,207 of its personnel to ensure a hitch-free Eid-ei- Fitir Sallah celebration in the state.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje told NEWS PLATFORM on Monday in Yola that it was part of steps aimed at preventing crimes before, during and after the Sallah.
According to him, the command has made adequate arrangements towards the deployment of its officers and men across the state with a view to ensuring hitch free Sallah in and around Adamawa.
DSP Nguroje disclosed that during such festivities, there are some undesirable elements such as mischief makers and religious fanatics that may likely attempt to cause confusion with a view to endanger lives and create sense of insecurity during Sallah.
He said that the command in conjunction with other security agencies will ensure water tight security before, during and after Sallah, saying that the personnel will monitor and neutralise the activities of hoodlums with a view to ensuring that the they do not take the advantage of the period to commit their nefarious activities.
According to him, the effort of the commissioner of police, CP A.A. Alhaji , is to ensure crime free, peaceful celebration devoid of any unpleasant incident, and wished Muslim faithful happy Sallah celebration.
