Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a syndicate of 2 impersonating Personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Balkari village in Hong LGA.
The command recovered 2 pump actions, 11 live Cartridges, Handcuff, leg chain, Jackets, others from the suspects.
The suspects include: Abdulrazaq Bindow, 29 and Ismaila Alim, 27years a residents of Maiha LGA.
The command's image maker, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspects were arrested on the 2nd March, 2023.
SP Nguroje, said that suspects had in the early hours of 2nd March, 2023, armed themselves with guns and invaded the village, wearing NDLEA jackets and pretended to be NDLEA officers.
According to him, the fake officers made the villagers to believe tha they were the personnel of the agency, and that they apprehended and handcuffed Amos Daniel, Kwada Fitagu and Gambo Zira.
He said that it was as result of the arrest that the villagers raised alarm and alerted the police who immediately responded and effected their arrest.
He disclosed that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of Hunters Association Adamawa State chapter.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Afolab Babatola, in an effort to ensure safety and security of the citizens, designed and security template which guided the Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) in checkmating crimes.
"The CP directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over investigation and ensure all their collaborators are arrested and prosecuted". The statement added.
