TRIBUNAL ORDERS SUBSTITUTED SERVICE ON GUYUK MEMBER-ELECT

National and State House of Assembly Election Tribunal in Adamawa state on Wednesday, ordered that the member-elect for Guyuk constituency, Hon. Sunday Peter, should be served through substituted means.

The tribunal ordered that Hon. Sunday Peter, should be served with the copies of the originating processes by pasting same at the Secretariat of the APC as well as notice board of the tribunal.

The tribunal in its ruling, granted an exparte application brought by the PDP Candidate, Hon. Adwawa Donglok, thereby ordering for substituted service on Hon. Sunday, elected to represent Guyuk constituency at the assembly.

Hon. Adwawa, the incumbent member representing the constituency, through his counsel, E. O. Odor, informed the tribunal that Hon. Sunday, is deliberately avoiding the service of their petitions on him.

According to him, the member-elect deliberately made himself elusive with a view to frustrating their effort to hand him the copies of the originating processes as required by the law.

He told the court that several attempts they made to effect service on him directly failed, saying that his only address known to them at the moment is through APC Secretariat, and that if it is pasted at the Secretariat and notice board of the tribunal will come to his notice.

Hon. Adwawa who is the Deputy Chief as well as Chairman House Committee on Petition, Public Service and Electoral Matters in his petition marked: EPT/AD/SHA/05/2023, is demanding nullification of election in several units allegedly characterised by electoral malpractice.
