Likewise, an appeal filed by the immediate past member of Girei constituency, Hon. Muhammed Mutawali, will be heard  tomorrow.

The Court of Appeal Abuja Division has fixed the 2 separate appeals for hearing in its notice of hearing on Sunday.

Hon. Japhet Kefas, has filed the appeal contending the judgement of the National/State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal delivered on the 25th October, 2023.

The tribunal which sat in Yola, Adamawa State nullified the election of the appellant and declared the petitioner, Hon. Rufai Umar as winner of the constituency election.

The former member is contesting the declaration of the incumbent member of the constituency and former Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi who was declared and returned elected by INEC.
