The IBI Foundation, renowned for its philanthropic endeavors, proudly announces a dual initiative this Holy Ramadan, combining the provision of Iftar meals with an enlightening Ramadan Lecture series.
This integrated approach aims to nourish both the body and the mind, reflecting the foundation’s holistic vision for community support and empowerment.
Nourishing the Needy: Iftar Meals Programme: Since the beginning of Ramadan, the IBI Foundation has been diligently providing Iftar meals to those in need, including indigent individuals and prison inmates.
This initiative is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to ensuring that the sacred tradition of breaking the fast is accessible to all, fostering unity and empathy within the community.
Lieutenant Commander Ibrahim Baba-Inna, Rtd, CEO of the IBI Foundation, emphasizes the foundation’s dedication: “Our resolve to serve the community is unwavering. We strive to ensure that no one faces hunger during this time of reflection and devotion. Our Iftar meals are a source of physical sustenance and spiritual comfort.”
Enlightening Minds: The First Ramadan Lecture Complementing the Iftar meals programme, the IBI Centre hosted its inaugural Ramadan Lecture, themed “Zakat al Fitr: an Islamic Mechanism for Poverty Alleviation.” The event featured Dr. Chiroma Tahir and Mal. Abubakar Lugga, who shared their insights on the significance of zakat al-fitr and its role in addressing poverty and fostering social welfare.
The lecture, held at the IBI Centre in Jimeta Yola, drew attention to the importance of zakat al-fitr as a tool for poverty alleviation and its broader social, spiritual, political, and economic benefits.
