STATE LAWMAKERS DIRECT FOR IMMEDIATE REFUND OF FARES TO INTENDING PILGRIMS

Henceforth, any Intending Christian or Muslim Pilgrim who for one reason or the other could not undertake the pilgrimage will be immediately refunded  his fares by the his board.
This was part of recommendations of Hon. Simon Isa (Song Constituency) led Ad Hoc Investigative Committee's Interim report on the activities of Christian and Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards respectively submitted and subsequently adopted by the Adamawa state House of Assembly.
In its report, the committee said that the Intending Pilgrims whether from the boards, self or government sponsored who due to one reason or the other could not make it, should be instantly refunded his or her fares.
According to the report, if circumstances warrant for his or her substitution, his or her consent must be sought on the person substituted him or her.
Speaking on phone while making clarification on the report, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Simon Isa (Song) said that the recommendation in particular is aimed addressing frustration the intending Pilgrms who could not make it usually encounter with issue of their fares.
He said that though his committee is yet to complete its assignment as given by the Speaker of the Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, but found it necessary to submit interim report and seek for more time to enable them carry out thorough investigation on the activities of the boards.
