From right to left: Israel with other suspects
A 19 year old Israel Emmanuel, has been arrested along side 2 other suspects by the Adamawa State Command after he allegedly kidnapped himself and collected the sum of N1million ransom from his father.
Israel of Mararaba Mubi allegedly faked his kidnap with the help of Fartaci Mustapha, 22, of Ga'anda in Gombi LGA, Zakka Nuhu, Shagari Lowcost Mubi North LGA and Abdullhamid Mohammed (still at large).
It all started with Israel who informed his friends about his intention to extort money from his own father where he self staged his own abduction with the aid of the trio.
After perfecting their plan, Israel met Zakka Nuhu at welcome to Mubi, and left for Muvir in Mubi North LGA and hid himself in the house of their friend for 6 days while his friends negotiate for ransom.
While in Muvir, Fartaci Mustapha, made a telephone call to Israel's father identified as Emmanuel, informing him about the abduction of his son.
After Fartaci introduced himself to Emmanuel as one of the kidnappers, handed over the phone to Israel in order to communicate with his beloved father and tell him about his situation.
While communicating with his father, Israel told him that he had been abducted, and that ransom was required to get him out of the purported kidnappers' den.
After spending 6 days in Muvir, Israel returned to Mubi and regrouped with his accomplices and mounted pressure on his father where the father agreed to pay the sum of N1million to secure his son's release.
NEWS PLATFORM gathered that after negotiation, the young men asked Fartaci and Abdulhamid to go to the bush in Mararaba Mubi and collect the ransom.
As arranged, the duo met with Emmanuel, but it was Abdulhamid who took the money where it was kept for them.
But to the utter disappointment of Israel, Zakka and Fartaci, Abdulhamid declared the sum of N500, 000 only and insisted that it was the only amount of money the father paid.
Out of the N500, 000 collected as ransom, Israel was given N200, 000, Fartaci, N50, 000, Zakka, N50, 000, Umar N100, 000, while Abdulhamid left with N100, 000.
Thereafter, Israel released himself and returned back home where he used his proceeds and bought handset, clothes and injected the remaining balance in his farm.
In his confession, Israel said that he smokes indian hemb, drinks beer and that he spends the sum of N250, on indian hemb on daily basis.
He explained that he stole his father' gear box and 2 bags of ground nut, saying that anytime he is released, he will go and call for a family meeting and apologise.
The suspects were arrested following a complaint to the Police Command by Emmanuel, who did not know that it was his son who abducted himself.
When NEWS PLATFORM contacted him, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleimam Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the arrest, saying that the suspects will be charged to court.
Nguroje, said that after Commissioner of Police, SK Akande, received the complaint, he ordered for investigation; hence, the arrest.
