Embattled Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Adamawa State, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has urged the Court of Appeal Yola Division to order APC to conduct fresh governorship primary.
Mallam Ribadu, also asked the court to allow his appeal as well as set aside the judgement of the Federal High delivered on the 14th October, 2022.
He prayed the court to direct APC to conduct fresh gubernatorial primary election to enable him participate in the exercise ahead of 2023 general election.
According to him, the trial judge acted in grave error when he held that APC shall not be able to field in any candidate in the forthcoming election in Adamawa state.
He stated that the lower court did not consider his right as a candidate to participate in the 2023 governorship election which was violated by the act of non-compliance by the party to its guidelines while conducting the election, which led him to seek remedy before the court.
The erstwhile EFCC Chairman informed the court that he is appealing the decision because the lower court erred in law having declined to order for fresh primary even after finding out that the primary election was replate with overvoting in clear violation of the party guidelines.
NEWS PLATFORM gathered that Ribadu, in an appeal filed on Wednesday, by his Counsel, M.I. Dikko(SAN) joined APC, Aishatu Binani and INEC as 1st to 3rd Respondents respectively.
