Man Kills 5 Yrs Old Boy, Buries Corpse in Shallow Grave in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 29 years old man, Isiaka Hassan, for allegedly killing 5 years old boy identified as Abba Bashiru. The suspect allegedly murdered the minor and buried the corpse in a shallow grave in Tingno, Lamurde LGA Adamawa State. This is contained in release by the the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje. SP Nguroje said that that the command had on the 30th August l, 2025, rceived a report from Hadiza Bashiru of Tingno, Lamurde LGA, that her 5-year-old son, Abba Bashiru, got missing and was later sighted with one Isiaka Hassan. He said after receiving the report, the command's operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer, Tingno, swiftly led an operation and arrested the accused. SEMA Mobilises N80million Cash for Food Relief to Fune, Fika, Potiskum Flood Victims

With the support of Action Against Hunger (ACF), the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has monitored the disbursement of cash-for-food assistance to 898 households across Fika, Fune and Postiskum LGAs affected by the 2025 windstorm and flooding. No fewer than 329 households affected by the windstorm in Fika LGA on 28th August, 2025, Potiskum LGA 340 households by windstorm/flooding ongoing and 229 households (combined windstorm and flood victims completed.  Earlier, SEMA provided cash-for-rent support to hundreds of flood-displaced families, ensuring they secure safe, dignified shelter as they rebuild their houses.  Today’s cash-for-food distribution under the Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) programme keyed into Governor Buni's plan to support the recovery of disaster victims, helping families to meet their most basic needs of essential food while they rebuild their lives. The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission wishes to inform all applicants who participated in the recently conducted Computer-Based Test (CBT) recruitment exercise that the results will be released tomorrow, 23rd August, 2025. Financial Autonomy: Northeast PASAN Lauds Adamawa, Seeks Implementation in 5 other States

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) Northeast Zone has applauded Adamawa  State for the implementation of financial autonomy for the state legislature. The association has urged other states in the Northeast including Bauchi, Yobe, Gombe, Borno, Taraba to commence the implementation of the autonomy for their state assemblies. Court Remands 4 for Vandalising Adamawa Polytechnic Properties

The Chief Magistrate Court I in Yola Adamawa state has remanded 4 persons in prison custody for allegedly vandalising properties of the Adamawa State Polytechnic Numan campus. News Platform  Those remanded include Nestor John, Kemuel Kefas, Bello Abubakar and Geoffrey Yohanna of Numan town, Numan LGA, Adamawa state. The order for the remand followed the arraignment of the defendants for criminal conspiracy, theft in the dwelling house, abatement and mischief, vandalisation of governmnent properties contrary to sections 60, 318, 276 of the penal code law. The First Information Report tendered in court during the arraignment of the defendants alleged that on different occasions in 2024 and 2025, the defendants conspired and vandalised the properties of the higher institution. The Chief Magistrate Court I sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has remanded a Yola based Businessman, Mamuda Duma, for allegedly having affair as well as aborting 3 months old pregnancy of a housewife. The court issued the remand order when the defendant was arraigned before it following a direct criminal complaint lodged against him by the husband of the wife, Ahmadu Lawal. In his complaint, Lawal of Yola town in Yola South LGA, alleged that the court that the defendant who resides at Wurojabbe was having an extra marital affair with his wife. Lawal told the court that he had found out sometimes in August, 2024, that the defendant was committing adultery with his wife, saying that he called him on phone 3 consecutive times and warned him to stop it, but to no avail. Court Jails Civil Servant for Drawing Double Salaries from University, LGC

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has secured the conviction of a civil servant, Mr. Ewere Morgan Eseosa, for receiving double salaries in gross violation of anti-corruption laws. Following a detailed investigation, the Commission uncovered that Mr. Eseosa had been simultaneously drawing salaries from two separate government entities: the University of Benin, where he was originally employed, and Ikpoba Okha LGC, where he subsequently got another employment. This act, which contravenes the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000, resulted in the illegal accumulation of N1,328,255.47 in unearned payments. Upon concluding its investigation, the ICPC, through its Prosecutor, Dennis Nnaemeka Okoro, charged Mr. Eseosa with two counts of obtaining by false pretense and cheating under Sections 419 and 421 of the Criminal Code Act 2004. News Platform  According to the Secretary of the Committee, Barr. Hassan Aminu, the public hearing is scheduled to take place at Barr. Ahmed Ali Gulak committee room of the Assembly complex in Yola, by 10:00am. The bill which was sent to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is seeking amendment to empower the Governor to appoint a prince from the ruling houses to act in place of an Incapacitated Emir or Chief during the period of Incapacitation.  The hearing is to enable the ad-hoc committee constituted by the speaker of the house Rt. Court Sentences Rector to 7 Yrs in Prison for Running Fake Degree Courses

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has secured the conviction of Mr. Olaniran Satiregun for running fake and unapproved courses in his college in Nasarawa State. Mr. Satiregun was the Founder/Rector of International College of Administration Science and Technology, Auta Balefi, Nasarawa State. He was first arraigned alongside the institution in 2024 on a three-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, contrary to Section 1 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act. ICPC’s Prosecutors, led by Mr. Adesina Raheem, had, in the course of the trial, detailed how the two defendants deceived unsuspecting applicants by offering admissions to study courses that were not accredited by the regulatory body. Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday, urged the State Government through the Ministry of Works and Energy Development to reconstruct Jada-Kojoli Mini Bridge (Arch Culvert). The lawmakers appealed to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration to as a matter of urgency fix the bridge in order to ease the hardship being faced by commuters.
