Dangote Sugar Refinery High Sch Organises Speech, Prize Giving Day




Dangote Sugar Refinery (DSR) High School in Adamawa State has organised 2024/2025 speech and prize giving day. 


The event attracted nursery/primary school pupils, secondary school students, teachers, parents, friends, well wishers as well as the management and staff of the DSR.


The event featured presentation of awards/category of prizes to pupils/students for their performance in various aspects,  choreography, debate organised by social performance in conjunction with DSR Schools, Nursery Career Display, Art Exhibition as well as Bachama cultural dance.



The overall best students in 2024/2025 academic sessions include Ibrahim Muhammed Shettima, Primary School Section, Agambu Peter, Junior Secondary  and Safiya Bello, Senior Section respectively.


Several other pupils/students won awards, prizes as well as cash for their academic performance in english language, mathematics and several other subjects, 


In his welcome address, the Acting Principal DSR High School, Pwapaldi Brendan Jomusu, said that it was an honour to him to celebrate the outstanding students' achievements.


Jomusu congratulated students who have excelled in their academic pursuit, saying that their hard work, dedication, and perseverance have truly paid of, and that they are immensely proud of every one of them. 


He said, "May this prestigious recognition motivate you to continue striving for excellence in all your endeavours. To our students who didn't receive prizes today, please don't be discouraged - every effort counts, and every achievement, no matter how small, is a significant step towards success.


"I extend my sincere gratitude to our dedicated teachers for their tireless efforts in guiding and nurturing our students. Your unwavering commitment to excellence is what makes DSR Schools Numan truly stands out.


He urged them to continue to work together to build a vibrant community of learners who will make a profound positive impact in the world.



He expressed deepest gratitude to the management for maintaining the scholarship scheme generously provided by the esteemed, Alh. Aliko Dangote.


He highlighted the students' remarkable victory in the last quiz competition, marking their third win in four years, saying that the outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both their teachers and students.


According to him, the recent WAEC and BECE results demonstrate a sustained level of academic excellence, which they are incredibly proud of, and assured that they will continue to strive for even greater heights.


"Permit me to draw your attention to an important matter regarding external examinations. It's crucial to note that WAEC will soon transition to an online, paperless format. Presently, we don't have a functional ICT Lab, and I humbly request that the management passionately consider this matter," he pleaded


He said that by the 2025/2026 academic session, any school without an ICT Lab will not be permitted to sit for external examinations, saying he is confident that the management will give the request a serious consideration.


In his goodwill message on behalf of the management, the General Manager Agriculture, Dr. Ibrahim Doka, appreciated the students, teachers, parents for their contribution in the education process.


Dr. Doka, congratulated the students and specifically applauded the management for sponsoring the event.


Also, in his goodwill message, the Head of Admin, Ma'azi Ikechukwu Okorie, thanked the pupils for making the company proud.


In his vote of thanks, the Chairman Parents Teacher Association (PTA), Mallam Lawal Adamu, thanked the management, teachers, students and parents for making the event successful.
