ADHA to Hold Public Hearing on Appointment, Deposition of Emirs, Chiefs Tuesday



Adamawa State House of Assembly Adhoc Committee has fixed Tuesday 12th August, 2025 public hearing on a bill to amend the Adamawa State Emirs and Chiefs’ Appointment and Deposition Law, 2024. News Platform 


According to the Secretary of the Committee, Barr. Hassan Aminu, the public hearing is scheduled to take place at Barr. Ahmed Ali Gulak committee room of the Assembly complex in Yola, by 10:00am.


The bill which was sent to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is seeking amendment to empower the Governor to appoint a prince from the ruling houses to act in place of an Incapacitated Emir or Chief during the period of Incapacitation. 


The hearing is to enable the ad-hoc committee constituted by the speaker of the house Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, collect inputs from relevant stakeholders from all the Emirates and Chiefdoms in the state for the proposed amendment law.
