Ex-Guyuk LGC Chair, Supporters Defect to APC, Declare Support for Tinubu
The former Chairman of Guyuk Local Government Council, in Adamawa State, Eng. Kube Akila Dwana, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eng. Kube along side his supporters have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for APC and pledged to work towards ensuring President Bola Tinubu's re-election.
The erstwhile Chairman who is currently the National Coordinator of the Middle Belt Coalition Movement and some of his supporters were received at the Secretariat of the APC in Yola, Adamawa State Capital by the Chairman of the party in the State, Barr. Idris Shuaibu represented the Secretary, Dr. Raymond Chidama among officials of the party.
They were accompanied at the Secretariat of the party by the Member representing Guyuk constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Peter, APC Chairman Guyuk LGA, Alh. Yahaya Bodei, other officials of the party among others.
Speaking at the party secretariat, Eng. Kube, informed the leadership of the party that he had consulted with a wide range of supporters and concluded that it will be proper for them to join the party to enable them support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
He said that they decided to join APC after weighing the performance of the President, saying that their coming will enable them support him to succeed so that invariably he will also address some of the challenges confronting Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
He stated that he came to join the party so that he does not operate from behind, explaining that they have so many aspirations that they want to meet and that the aspirations can best be met when the corperate with the APC.
According to him, he had played a vital role in his former party through their elders including late Commondor Dan Suleiman, late Ambassador Wilberforce Juta, Gen. Haladu Hananiya(rtd), and Chief Joel Madaki among others and decided to leave the party.
He called on his supporters to join hands with all the people they met in the party so that they can form a formidable team to enable them form government at all levels.
Speaking while receiving the delegation, the APC Chairman, Barr. Idris Shuaibu who was represented by the Secretary, Dr. Raymond Chidama congratulated him and his supporters for joining the party.
The Chairman stated that the party is for everybody and that nobody will be left behind in the scheme of things, assuring that the party will be fair and just to all its members even if one joins the party today.
He called on the party faithful to register and work towards the victory of the party at all levels, assuring that that party is ready to accommodate more members.
In his goodwill message, the Member representing Guyuk constituency at the assembly, Hon. Sunday Peter, expressed happiness over the decision of the former Chairman to join the party.
Hon. Sunday Peter, told the gathering that Eng. Kube was the first person who identified with him when he was seeking for election in 2023, saying he even handed his entire structure to him.
He said that his decision to join APC will bring about the progress of the party not only in Guyuk but the state in general, saying the leader of the party is the National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu and Barr. Idris Shuaibu is their Chairman at the state level.
He appealed to him to encourage his followers to go and obtain membership cards to enable them benefit from the party and commended the leadership of the party in the state.
Earlier, in his speech, the Chairman APC Guyuk LGA, Alh. Yahaya Bodei, said they came primarily to introduce the former Chairman and his supporters to the leadership of the party in the state.
