ADAMAWA PENSION BOARD SEEKS REVIEW OF ALLOCATION FROM #50 TO #350MILLION



Leadership of the Adamawa state Pension Board has sought for upward review of monthly allocation from #50million to #350million monthly for speedy settlement of outstanding gratuities within 4 years.


The Board further sought for approval for the implementation of newly reviewed pension rate for pensioners in the state, a minimum of #7,000 as against the current #4,000.


The Executive Chairman of the Board, Thomas T. Madi, made the request while receiving the House Standard Committee on Public Petitions and Electoral Matters, led by its Chairman, Hon. Adwawa Donglock(Guyuk) on a familiarisation visit of agencies under the Committee.


Madi appealed to the government to consider introducing an indigenous and befitting contributory pension scheme which will be workable in the state.


The Chairman appealed to the government to ensure full automation of pension through full computerisation and software installation of the board facilities for effective pension administration in the state.


Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Adwawa Donglock, informed the board that the primary reason behind the visit was to enable the Committee get acquainted with the operational challenges of the board.


Members of the visit that undertook the visit include, Hon. Hamidu Sajo Lekki(Yola North), Hon. Ibrahim Musa Italiya(Mayo Belwa), Hon. Shuaibu Babas(Fufore Gurin), and Hon. Abubakar Isa( Shelleng).
