MADAGALI MP EMPOWERS ELECTORATE WITH #15MILLION SEWING MACHINES, OTHERS

 




As part of efforts towards empowering his electorate to become self reliant in the society, the Member representing Madagali constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri, has distributed empowerment items worth #15million to his electorate.


The empowerment items distributed include; 120 sewing machines, 90 Gasoline Generators and 90 Super Power Clippers.


Apart from the items, the Legislator also pledged to sink 20 boreholes in 10 political wards including  Palam, Madagali, Wula, Waggah, SS Vapra, Bebel, Hyambula, Kirchinga, Gulak and Mayo Wadu.


Speaking while distributing the items at Madagali Local Government Council's Secretariat on Saturday, the Lawmaker thanked his entire electorate for their support which saw to his emergence as the Member representing Madagali.


Hon. Jilantikiri, told them that the state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has doled out the sum of #40million to every Legislator so as to enable them execute constituency projects for their constituents, and appreciated him for making the Members proud.


He explained that the money was not given to him in cash but through the ministry, and that it is the ministry that will embark on the execution of the constituency projects as requested by the member.


According to him, his only take on the money is to inform the ministry the type of project to be sited as well as supervise its execution, saying that he decided to empower his constituents with the resources due to the level of poverty as a result of destruction caused by the Boko Haram insurgents.


He added that he decided to contribute his own quarter towards economically empowering youths and women whose business places were destroyed by the hoodlums, saying that both the youths and women lost everything during the attacks and that the items will go along way in empowering them.


He told them that the empowerment programme is just the beginning as he will be reaching out to them time to time, so as to enhance their living standard, and pleaded with those that could not get to exercise patience and wait for another time.


Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri, said they have finished arrangement with his coordinating ministry to sink of 20 boreholes across 10 political wards to enable the inhabitants have access to portable water supply, and advised them to make the judicious use of the items.


In his remarks, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas who was represented by the Majority Leader, Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri(Jada Mbulo) commended Hon. Jilantikiri for doing the House of Assembly proud.


The Speaker informed them that the Honourable House is ready to cooperate with Governor Fintiri, so as to enable him and his government succeed, saying he is confident that the government of the day will implement all its policies and programmes for the development of the state.


He explained that the government of the day is doing everything possible to provide quality health care delivery service, promote standard of education, provide water supply, empower youths and women, and therefore appealed for support to enable it execute its laudable programmes.


Also speaking, the Organising Secretary of the  PDP in the state, Alhaji Bello Hamza Madagali, described the event as historic, saying they came to support their member who has provided dividends of democracy to their electorate.


Baring his mind, a Stakeholder, Alhaji Dauda Mai Shinkafa, told the public that he will soon launch his empowerment programme in support of Hon. Jilantikiri's programme and congratulated him for kind gesture.


On this part, the PDP Chairman Madagali LGC, Hon. Alhaji Shuaibu Ujulu, said that what the member has done is what is expected of every good leader.


Also speaking, the Chairman Physically Challenged Persons Madagali LGA, Yakubu Hassan appealed to the House of Assembly to consider establishing Commission for Physically Persons in the state.


In his vote of thanks, the Executive Chairman Madagali LGC, Aiden Tsukumu, thanked the Member and called on the beneficiaries to make use of the items given to them in order to economically establish themselves.
