FINTIRI, POLICE BOSS, JOURNALISTS PAY LAST RESPECT TO LATE VILIAN MURRAY





Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the Commissioner of Police Adamawa State Command on Wednesday, joined cross section of Journalists in paying last respect to late Late female journalist, Vilian Murray.


Vilian Murray of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation(ABC), Yola, died on Saturday, 4th November, 2023 at the age of 44 after brief illness.


Several practising Journalists gathered at their Press Centre, Yola Adamawa State to pay their last respect to their deceased colleague.


Speaking at the solemn occasion, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by the Commissioner Ministry of Information and Strategy, Hon. Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, condoled the entire journalists over the demise of their member.


In her tributes, the National President Nigeria Union of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ladi Patrick condoled the union over the loss, saying that the NUJ has lost a committed, peaceful and friendly member.


On his part, the National President NUJ, Chris Isiguzo, who was represented by the Zonal Vice President Northeast, Zare Baba extended the union's condolences to the entire Adamawa journalists, and urged them to take heart.


Speaking earlier, the Chairman NUJ Adamawa State Council, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan, said that is a tradition for the union to lay in state its member who passes onto glory.


Comrade Dedan added that the union deemed it imperative to pay last respect to late Vilian Murray considering her enormous contributions to the growth of the union, and thanked the family for allowing the corpse to be laid in state at the Secretariat of the union.


Also, in his condolence message, the Principal Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru, Mr. George Kushi condoled the entire journalists, and described late Vilian as a dedicated journalist.


Also speaking, Uncle to the deceased, Sena Murray thanked the entire journalists for honouring their daughter and giving good testimonies about her life, saying that the honour has comforted the entire family.
