Hon. Mackondo led committee informed the assembly that if amended and passed, the law will provide for the right of litigants to initiate a hitch free appeals from the area courts to upper area courts.

It added that repealing the area court edict will allow appeals from area courts to upper area courts, and that it can reduce loads and delay of cases in the high courts and urged the hallowed chamber to consider and okay it.

After receiving the report, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, who presided over the sitting, directed the Chairman Rules and Business to schedule the report for consideration on Tuesday.
