Three suspected kidnappers have been remanded in prison custody for threatening to kill or abduct a man failure to pay the sum of N5million as his ransom.
Chief Magistrate Mohammed Abdullahi Digil, ordered the remand of the defendants for criminal conspiracy, intimidation and attempt to commit kidnapping contrary to sections 60, 382 and 249 of Adamawa penal code law.
The defendants, Mohammed Tukur, Abdullahi Bello and Garba Usman, of Ngbalang in Numan Local Government Area, pleaded guilty to the offences.
The trio had on 11th December, 2021, called one, Kabiru Sulei, of the same address and threatened to kill him failure to pay them N5million as his ransom.
Kabiru, went and reported the matter to the police on that fateful day; hence, the arrest of the defendants and their arraignment.
After the case was mentioned, the prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, urged the chief magistrate court to adjourn the matter to enable the prosecution forward case file to DPP for legal advice.
Ruling, Chief Magistrate Digil adjourned the matter to the 17th January, 2022, and ordered that the defendants be remanded in prison custody till then.
