The best graduating student of the Adamawa State University(ADSU) Mubi, Elija Hope Tumba, has been offered automatic employment.
The 24 year old girl, Hope Tumba, hails from Michika Local Government Area and holds B. Sc Economics, First Class from the state university in 2019.
After her graduation, she went to an Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria(ICAN), in November, 2021, and came out as the best graduant and currently pursuing M. Sc at the Nigerian Defence Academy.
Hope also became best graduating student Michika/Madagali constituency from 2009/2010 to 2018/2020 academic sessions and also bagged Federal Government Scholarship Board award 2016-2017.
The young girl emerged the over all best position at profession level in ther ICAN 68th induction November and co- prize for Advanced Taxation best qualifying candidate in the ICAN May, 2021 diet.
She bagged the Society of Women Accountants prize for over all best qualifying female candidate in the ICAN May, 2021 diet, prize for best qualifying female candidate in the ICAN 2021 68th induction.
She did her mandatory National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) at Neuropsychiatric Hospital Barnawa, Kaduna, 2019-2020 and Internship at UF-IDIAGI and Co. firm of Chartered Accountants as Account Officer, 2020 to date.
Speaking while receiving the student at the university liaison office in Yola, on Wednesday, the Chairman of the University Governing Council, Hon. Auwal D. Tukur, said the young girl has made the university community and the Adamawa state proud.
The Chairman who was visibly elated further stated that to be the best graduant in ICAN in the whole nation is not a small feat and congratulated her for her effort.
Hon. Tukur, disclosed that it is a thing of joy for Adamawa citizens, and that the council felt is good to honour/reward her and present her as beacon, saying that she is resource that cannot be wasted.
He declared that he has a mandate of the council as chairman and that of the Vice Chancellor to offer her automatic employment in the university.
Earlier, speaking while presenting the girl to the council, the VC of the university, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, said that the institution is proud of her.
The VC added that it gladdens her heart as a mother that their daugthers have a hope in the future and pleaded with her to take personal responsibilty in mentoring all the girls that will come in contact with her outside her official mentorship.
Reacting on the development, the member representing Michika constituency, Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada, thanked the council and university for rewarding his constituent and congratulated her for the honour done to her.
