Adamawa State House of Assembly Ad Hoc Committee for the proposed creation of new districts has so far received 83 memoranda from different communities seeking the creation of additional districts.

The ad hoc committee headed by Hon. Hammantukur Yetisuri (Jada Mbulo) has since last week commenced public with a view to collecting imputs from stakeholders before passing a bill for the creation of new districts.

Hon. Yetisuri's led committee is expected to round up its public hearing today, after which it might embark on the verification exercise by visiting all the headquaters of the proposed districts.

This is coming as stakeholders of Jimeta community in Yola North Local Government Area on Wednesday, rejected the proposed creation of 2 additional districts, and vowed to fight the division of Jimeta district.

According to the high powered delegation of Jimeta stakeholders, the move by the assembly to create 2 additional districts in Jimeta is inimical to peace and communal harmony.

Former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Muhammad Hassan Turaki who led the delegation advised the government to strive and address challenges confronting the society and shelve the idea of creating additional districts in Yola North LGA.

The stakeholders including a billionaire, Alhaji Musa Garba, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim and Alh. Yusuf Dan Umma, former members of ADHA, Chairmen of LGC, Councillors among others, said they do not want the creation of additional districts as they have not been consulted and called on the house to reject any memor submitted to that effect.

Responding while receiving their complaint letter, the Chairman of the committee, Hon. Yetisuri, promised to consider their submission before the creation new district more especially in the area.
