Barely 21 days of assumption of office, the Chairman Transition Committee of Gombi Local Government Council, Hon. Abdulrahaman Dauda Shanga, has distributed 12 brand new motorcycles to the PDP wards Chairmen of the LGA.
The motocycles were distributed to the party leaders from Ga, anda, Gombi North, Gombi South, Garkida, Tawa, Yang, Gabun, Guyaku, Duwa, Boga Dingai political wards.
Hon. Shanga, was said to have supplied the motorcycles and embarked on the rehabilitation of township roads with the revenues he generated within 21 days of his administration.
Speaking while distributing the motorcycles to the beneficiaries in Gombi on Wednesday, the member representing Gombi constituency at the state House of Assembly, Hon. Japhet Kefas, commended Hon. Shanga for his commitment.
Hon. Kefas, who is the Deputy Majority Leader of the assembly, told the gathering that the LGC boss has done what some of his predecessors could not achieve while on the helmp of affairs for years.
The lawmaker who was visibly elated said that he is fulfilled since the LGA now has a credible and honest leader in power, saying that he is confident that if he is given opportunity, he will develop the LGA.
While speaking on the challenges confronting the party in Gombi LGA, Hon. Kefas, observed with concern how some personalities are hellbent in destroying the party in the LGA.
He noted with concern how the affected personalities in the LGA outrighly violate every directives being given by the leadership of the party at the state level, saying that the personalities cause a lot confusion in Gombi.
He called on the leadership of the party to identify those that are causing conflict, confusion and flagrant disobedience to the leadership of the party at the LG and at the state level for necessary action.
Also speaking, the PDP stakeholder and former member of the assembly, Hon. Jerry Kumdisi, called on the electorate to support the chairman as well as ensure the re-election of Hon. Japhet Kefas.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Barr. A. T. Shehu, who was represented by the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Stephen Doma, applauded the chairman, saying that he has done what a good leader is expected to do.
He appealed to the party faithful to go and obtain their voters card, saying their love for the ruling party will be useless without their cards which will enable them to exercise their franchise.
Baring his mind, the Transition Committee Chairman of Gombi, Hon. Abdulrahaman Dauda Shanga, thanked them for their support, and promised not to disappoint them, commending Hon. Kefas, for his good leadership qualities.
On his part, the District Head of Guyaku, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim, has called for unity and understanding and stressed the need for the support of the LGC chairman and the member.
