ADAMAWA CP HOSTS OTHER SERVICE CHIEFS, ASSURES OF PEACEFUL POLLS





As part of his determination to ensure stability in internal security as well as conducive environment for the conduct of 2023 general elections, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande, played host to other service chiefs in the state.


Those hosted by CP Akande, on Friday, include; the Nigerian Army, Department of Security Service(DSS), Nigeria Customs, Nigeria Securtity and Civil Defense Corps, Fire Service, Nigeria Airforce, Nigeria Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service and Federal Road Safety.


The meeting was organised by the Police Boss ahead of the general elections billed to hold in February and March respectively, with a view to ensuring a level playing ground for hitch exercise. 


The service chiefs were able to strenghten existing synergy and actionable intelligence sharing, carrying out joint and various strategic planning as well as execution of operations.


More so, the heads of security agencies discussed as well as strengthened collaboration between the Inter- Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security and on intelligence sharing, collation and sharing of campaign plans, swift responses on security threats to democracy.


Briefing newsmen after the closed door meeting, the Commissdioner of Police, CP Akande, stated that the police command and other sister agencies do not want to fail that is why they are planning ahead of election.


CP Akande, disclosed that modern security architecture requires constant synergy and interactions with other sister agencies, saying that their effort is to ensure that if every other state will be on fire, Adamawa remains peaceful before, during and after polls.


According to him, the police command needs the support of other agencies to put its resources together to deliver on the mandate of President Muhammadu Buhari, pointing out that if the police say they can do it alone, they are just bragging.


"The meeting we had today, is for us to assess our capacities, identify the shortfalls and find a solution to the shortfalls and to prepare ahead of the challenges we are going to face". CP Akande, said.


The Police Boss applauded the government and the citizens for making their work easy, and reassured the commitment of police command to serve them better.
