Former Deputy Inspector General of Police and the erstwhile Permanent Secretary Ministry for LG Affairs, Philemon Ibrahim Lela, and Kenedy Dauda, have issued 14 days ultimatum to a community to withdraw allegations levelled against them.
Dingle Uboh Clan of Mayah Community in Demsa Local Government Area on Thursday, accused the retired DIG and the Permanent Secretary of Wanela Wangowang Clan of Mayah of masterminding attacks against them.
The community had while addressing newsmen, said that the recent attack on its community sponsored by the duo left 8 people severely wounded due to matchete cut and gun shots, while property worth millions were destroyed.
The former DIG and the Perm Sec through their Counsel, Chief Ehimikhaui G.M.O, denied the allegations leveled against the duo, and described it as false, unfounded, spurious which cannot be substantiated with any credible evidence.
Chief Ehimikhaui, said that his clients have given the affected community 14 days ultimatum beginning on Monday 13th February, 2023, within which to retract their allegations.
He warned that failure and/or refusal to withdraw or retract the malicious allegations and apologize using the same medium will compel them to seek legal redress.
He pointed out that the following persons including Baka Dafa Dingle, Hebron Chindo, Bamanga Chindo and one other are given 14days to do so or his clients shall be compelled to demand same through legal means.
"I wish to categorically state here that the DIG and Perm Sec have no single hand in the conflict because as prominent sons from that area, they have nothing to benefit if their community is destroyed due to unnecessary conflict". He explained.
According to him, the personalities have contributed immensely to the development of their community, saying that they are peace loving people, who have used their positions and connections for the development of their community, and not inciting violence.
He stated that it is is not true that Kennedy Dauda has been securing the bail of one Nehemiah Garba, from the police and also blocking any plan to take him to court to face justice.
