ANXIETY AS APPEAL COURT DECIDES ON SEN. CLIFF's EXPULSION FROM APC 2 DAYS TO POLLS



The Court of Appeal Yola, Division has fixed Thursday this week, for judgement in suit filed by Senator Ishaku Abbo, against his expulsion from the APC. NEWS PLATFORM.


The appellate court will determine whether or not Senator Cliff, who represents Adamawa Northern Senatorial District, is still a card carrying member of the opposition party.


Likewise, the court's verdict will determine whether the embattled Senator is entitled to enjoy any right or privilege accorded to APC members.


Additionally, the court's decision will determine whether Senator Cliff is entitled to seek re-election or not going by the lower court's judgement which affirmed his removal from APC.


The State High Court presided by Hon. Justice Danladi Muhammed, recently sacked Senator Cliff, and declared that he is not entitled to participate in the 2023, election because he had been expelled by his party.


Justice Danladi, held that the Senator and APC are bound by the resolution of Mubi North LG Exco dated 7th October, 2022, which removed him.


According to the judge, the Senator is not entitled to enjoy any right because he had been shown way out of the party.


Not satisfied with the entire judgement, Senator Ishaku Abbo, approached the appellete court and asked it to upturn the trial court's judgement because it has no jurisdiction to hear and determine the matter.


Senator Cliff through his Lead Counsel, Sam Ologunorisa(SAN) along side E. O. Odo esq and others, appealed to the appellate court to set aside the judgement so as enable him participate in the Saturday elections.
