The Hama Bachama, His Royal Majesty, Homun Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila (CON) has commended Dangote Sugar Refinery Numan Operations for empowering hosts communities in Adamawa State.
Homun Dr. Daniel, who is also the Chairman Bachama Traditional Council, made the commendation while receiving journalists from Northeast who paid courtesy visit at his palace on Thursday.
The journalists were led by the Executive Director, Climate Africa Media Initiative and Centre(CAMIC), Aliu Akoshile as well as the Manager Media Relations in the North, Jibrin Abubakar respectively.
The Paramount Ruler of Bachama kingdom said that Dangote has been training and empowering people across 5 LGAs which comprise Numan, Lamurde, Demsa, Guyuk and Shelleng.
The Hama Bachama who was represented by the Secretary of the traditional council, Ambrose F. Tayinshi, said that Dangote Sugar Refinery Numan Operations has trained their susbjects and empowered them with needed equipment.
According to him, the corporate social responsibility of the company has drastically reduced idleness as well as crime on the streets, saying that Dangote has been doing well for their communities and the country in general.
"Most of the rich people we have in the country will train you and enslave you, but Dangote will train you and empower you. He has done that to our youths in the 5 LGAs", Hama said.
He said, "Dangote will train you and provide you with equipment", explaining that he had trained their subjects for 3 months in Kano State and provided them with relevant equipment.
The royal father prayed God to continue to bless him abundantly and appreciated the journalists for the visit on his royal majesty and tasked them to put what they have learnt into practice.
Speaking on behalf of the journalists, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State Council, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan, thanked the royal father for warmed reception.
The Chairman told the royal father that the journalists had visited the company and seen goods things particularly relating to human development, saying that the company has touched the lives of hundreds of people.
Also speaking, the Executive Director, Climate Africa Media Initiative and Centre(CAMIC), Aliu Akoshile, said that the they had visited Dangote Sugar Refinery Numan which is one of the biggest company in Nigeria.
He applauded the fatherly role being played by paramount ruler not only in his chiefdom but the entire state and country in general, saying that the royal father should be emulated, and appreciated him for allowing the company to flourish in his chiefdom.
Aliu Akoshile pointed out that the major challenge the country is facing is the issue of youth, saying that if the youth are well empowered and engage, a several social vices will be reduced to the barest minimum.
