The stage is set for the National/House of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa state to deliver its verdict in petition filed by Hon. Adwawa Donglok against Hon. Sunday Peter.
The tribunal has fixed Monday, 2nd October, 2023, to give its verdict in petition brought before it by Hon. Adwawa, the immediate past member Guyuk constituency.
Hon. Adwawa is contesting the election of Hon. Sunday Peter, who is the incumbent representing Guyuk constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Tomorrow's verdict will bring an end to legal battle between Hon. Adwawa of the Peoples' Democratic Party(PDP) and hundreds of their supporters in and around Guyuk constituency.
In his petition, Hon. Adwawa Donglok(Guyuk) demanded the nullification of election in all the units where according to him there was an over voting and other irregularities.
On his part, the former Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Hon. Sunday Peter, prayed the tribunal to dismiss the petition, alleging that the petition is vexatious, incompetent, lacking in merits and ought to be dismissed in its entirety.
