7-Man Syndicate Arrested for Tricycle, Motorcycle Theft in Adamawa

  The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 7- man syndicate who specialise in stealing as well as selling of stolen tricycles and motorcycles in Yola metropolis. The arrest followed a well-coordinated intelligence-led operation which also led to the recovery of two stolen tricycles and one motorcycles. This is contained in a release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to News Platform in Yola. He explained that the operatives of the Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID) acted upon credible information and apprehended one Mohammed Alhaji, 25 years old, of Hulere Ward, Yola North LGA on the 24th June, 2025. According to him, during interrogation, the suspect confessed being part of a syndicate that specialise in the theft of tricycles and motorcycles in Yola. The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 29 years old man identified as Zaphaniya Alfred for armed robbery at Zangun in Numan LGA. The operatives of command recovered 1 locally made pistol, 2 AK-47 live ammunition, 1 pistol live ammunition, 1 live cartridge. Others items recovered from the Accused include pair of military camouflage, uniform, 4 military camouflage caps, 2 military camouflage T-shirt,  black torch light.  A release by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the arrest followed a formal complaint made by one Ibrahim Maikano whom the the suspect had threatened to kill him. Court Discharges Student, Farmer Falsely Accused of Kidnapping in Adamawa

A High Court No. 2 sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has discharged and acquitted a Secondary School Student as well as a farmer accused of criminal conspiracy, attempt and threat to commit kidnapping.  The Court presided by Hon. Justice Bulila Ladukiya Ikharo, discharged and acquitted Mohammed Shu’aibu and Samaila Suleiman, after spending about 4 years behind bars. Both Defendants who hail from Hong LGA in Adamawa State were earlier arraigned before the court on a Three (3) count amended charge of conspiracy, attempt and threat to commit kidnapping contrary and punishable under Sections 249 (1), 249 (2) and 249 (3) of the Adamawa State Penal Code Law 2018. Recruitment: Adamawa CSC Drops 44, 099 Applications

The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has released the outcome of the screening exercise of applications for the ongoing employment exercise into the State workforce. According to the Civil Service Commission, out of 96,102 applicants, 52,003 candidates were deemed eligible to proceed to the next stage. This is contained in a release by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. The Commission cited the following reasons for disqualification: Candidates with NCE qualifications not part of the initial process, wrong applications with mismatched fields of study and qualifications Others include overaged candidates, incorrect document uploads, non-indigenes of Adamawa State, existing local government council employees. Court to Rule on Application to Halt Proceedings in Suit Against Fufore Emirate

A Yola High Court in Adamawa State has fixed the 14th July, 2025, for ruling in the application to stay proceedings in the suit challenging the creation of Fufore Emirate. News Platform  The court presided by Justice Musa Usman, fixed the date after hearing in the application praying for an order of the court to stay proceedings pending hearing and determination of an appeal before the Court of Appeal Yola Division.   The application was filed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice A. K. Jingi, who appeared in court for the ministry during court proceedings on Monday, along side J. A. Waya (Director Civil Litigation Ministry of Justice). Adamawa State House of Assembly has taken steps to repeal the Local Government Administration, System and Establiment Law 2,000 to extend the tenure of LGC Chairmen from 2 years to 3 years. News Platform  This action followed a letter seeking to repeal the law in order to extend the tenure of the LGC Chairmen to 3 years forwarded to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. Court Discharges 2 Accused of Armed Robbery in Adamawa

High Court of Justice No. 3, Yola Judicial Division in Adamawa State has discharged and acquitted 2 persons accused of criminal conspiracy, abatement and armed robbery. The court discharged and acquitted the defendants for failure of the prosecution to prove its case against them. The court presided by Hon. Justice Kyanson Samuel Lawanson, discharged and acquitted the defendants after they were tried and found not guilty to multiple offences slammed against them by the prosecution. The defendants, Isa Yusuf (a.k.a Abati), 22 years old and Mohammed Bako, 30 years old, were arraigned before the court on the 14th October, 2022 where they pleaded not guilty to all the eleven (11) count charges preferred against them. The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, has approved the dissolution of the Management Board of the Jimeta Modern Market. Adamawa Police Arrest 7 "Shila" Boys for Armed Robbery

Adamawa State Police Command has arrested seven (7) suspected "Shila" boys for allegedly involving in an armed robbery. The suspects were apprehended while carrying out their operation along Federal Housing -Bajabure in Girei LGA following a distressed call to the command on the 9th June, 2025. The suspects include Ja'afar Umar,16, Bulama Abba, 15, Dalha Mohammed, 16, Saidu Abba, 18, Safiyanu Yunusa, 15, Mohammed Abubakar, 15 and Abba Ibrahim, 15 of Jambutu in Yola North LGA. According to the command, a total sum of Twelve Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira (₦12,350), one (1) dagger, and two (2) GSM phones were recovered from the suspects and treated as exhibits.
