Adamawa Police Arrest 7 "Shila" Boys for Armed Robbery



Adamawa State Police Command has arrested seven (7) suspected "Shila" boys for allegedly involving in an armed robbery.


The suspects were apprehended while carrying out their operation along Federal Housing -Bajabure in Girei LGA following a distressed call to the command on the 9th June, 2025.


The suspects include Ja'afar Umar,16, Bulama Abba, 15, Dalha Mohammed, 16, Saidu Abba, 18, Safiyanu Yunusa, 15, Mohammed Abubakar, 15 and Abba Ibrahim, 15 of Jambutu in Yola North LGA.


According to the command, a total sum of Twelve Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira (₦12,350), one (1) dagger, and two (2) GSM phones were recovered from the suspects and treated as exhibits.


A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspects reportedly attacked members of the public, dispossessing them of their valuables. 


SP Nguroje explained that the suspects had armed themselves with dangerous/offensive weapons and  caused fear among residents.


The operatives led by DPO Viniklang and his team, swiftly responded the scene of the crime and arrested the following suspects:


In his reaction, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to takeover case and ensure deligent investigation and Prosecution of the Suspects.


He assured the general public of its sustained effort to combat crime in the State.
