Adamawa PDP Chieftain, Dujuma Michika Denies Defecting to APC
Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, Hon. Andy Sini (Dujuma Michika) on Friday, debunked rumours making round of his defection to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
There has been rumours of Hon. Andy Sini (Dujuma Michika's) and PDP Chieftain in Adamawa State of cross carpeting from the ruling PDP to the opposition APC.
Briefing newsmen in Yola, Dujuma Michika described the rumours as entirely false, misleading, and malicious, insisting that the rumours being peddled is a calculated attempt to distract, divide, and derail their collective focus as a party.
"I stand before you today to address a matter that has recently sparked unwarranted speculations and baseless rumors about my political allegiance and integrity.
"It has come to my attention and indeed to the public space that some individuals and groups are peddling the false and fabricated rumours that I have defected from our great party, the PDP to the APC," he stated.
He disclosed that he had attended a meeting organised purposely for individuals who had contested various political offices under the APC between 2019 and 2023.
According to him, his attendance at the meeting was neither political nor partisan in nature, and that he had attended the meeting out of courtesy unknown to him the underlying agenda behind it.
He explained that he had attended the meeting in good fate and signed attendance sheet as usually done during meetings, and lamented a situation whereby some individuals used the list as names of those who dumped PDP for APC.
"All that happened was that an attendance list was passed round, and it is common practice in most gatherings of taking such attendance. I signed it in good fate not knowing that it would later be misused to imply political alignment and endorsement", Dujuma further lamented.
He said there is no reason whatsoever he will abandon the performing Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, under whose purposeful leadership Adamawa State has witnessed unmatched progress.
He added that Governor Fintiri's achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and security have not only transformed the state but have also renewed the hopes of our people.
He posited that Fintiri's style of leardership, tireless commitment to good governance, and unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the PDP inspires confidence and pride.
He said, "I take this opportunity to reaffirm my dedication to the PDP's vision, leadership, and future. I also call on our party members to remain vigilant, focused, and united in the face of divisive tactics aimed at weakening our resolve.
Dujuma urged both leadership and members of the PDP, the media, and the general public to disregard such rumors and focus on the more pressing issues that concern our party and their people.
