Lawmakers at the Adamawa State House of Assembly have put a machinery on motion for the establishment of State Public Complaint and Anti Corruption Commission.
Already, a bill to that effect has formally been placed on notice at the commencement of public business on Monday, indicating the readiness of the legislators to legislate on such a legislation.
After the appropriate notice, the Chairman Rules and Business of the hallowed chamber will now schedule the bill for first reading at the next convenient legislative day after spelling out the merits of the bill.
Floated by the Member representing Shelleng, Hon. Abubakar Isa, and co- sponsored by 24 other Honourable Members of the assembly, the bill if appropriately enacted and assented to by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, will go along way in fighting corruption in the state.
NEWS PLATFORM reliably gathered that the merit of the bill is to establish a commission in the state that will adequately entertain complaints of injustice, unfair treatment, corruption and abuse of public office by public officials.
It is time that will tell whether the commission if finally established, will bark and bite or it will end up being a toothless bulldog like many others that cannot add any value to the society.
