ADAMAWA: COURT REMANDS 2 FOR STEALING 2 BAGS OF CHARCOAL, BICYCLE


 

Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa state on Monday remanded a 23 year old labourer, Yusuf Maikano after he pleaded guilty for stealing 2 bags of charcoal worth #3000.


The court has also remanded a 24 year old Aminu Ibrahim after he confessed to have stolen a bicycle belonging to one Fedius Zakius of Aso Rock in Jambutu, Yola North Local Government Area.


The accused were arraigned before Magistrate Ibrahim Ulenda led Honourable Court over allegations of theft contrary to section 276 of the state penal code law during which they pleaded to their offences.


Yusuf Maikano was alleged to have been found in possession of 2 bags of charcoal, and that when he was arrested, he confessed to have stolen it from one Aisha Usman, a business woman of behind Jambutu motor park on 17th January, 2021.


On his part, Aminu Ibrahim of Mai Rawani Jambutu was reported to have intentionally went into the house of Zakius and carted away with his bicycle, the offence which he admitted in court to have committed.


Thereafter, the Prosecutor, Inspector Abraham Zirmba, pleaded with the court to adjourn the cases to 2nd February, 2021 to enable him bring 1 for each to corroborate the plea of the accused.


Presiding over the cases separately, Magistrate Ibrahim Ulenda, adjourned it to 2nd February, 2021 for hearing and summary trial, and ordered that the suspects be remanded at Yola correctional service facility till then.
