Police in Adamawa state have apprehended 3 Shila Boys and recovered tricycle, sharp knives and cutlasses from the suspects.
The accused were alleged to have been terrorising the inhabitants of Doubeli, Chinco and Jambutu in Yola North Local Government Area.
According to the Command, the suspects including Nasiru Umaru,18, Adamu Muhd 32, and Babaji Audi 22 were arrested at Ngurore in Yola South Local Government and currently being investigated.
A statement by the Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Thursday, said that the police operatives arrested the boys whose criminal network spreads across Doubeli, Chinco and Jambutu in Yola North LGA.
DSP Nguroje added that the suspects are being interrogated in connection to alleged criminal conspiracy and armed robbery after which they will be charged to court as soon as investigations is concluded, and assured that the tricycle will be returned to the owner.
He added that the command on the 20th January, 2021 received information about the suspicious movement of the syndicate in a particular hideout situated at a remote area in Ngurore, and that the new Commissioner of Police, CP A. A. ALHAJI immidiately deployed operatives led by DPO Ngurore Division and succeeded in apprehending all the suspects.
The command however commended the Police operatives of Ngurore Division for their immediate response which resulted in the successes recorded.
It further appreciated the citizens for their cooperation and support and called for improved partnership and collaboration between the citizens and the Police particularly in the area of providing credible information as required in tackling crimes and apprehending unrepentant criminals.
