YOLA COURT REMANDS 2 AFTER PLEADING GUILTY FOR STEALING A SHE GOAT


 

Yola Chief Magistrate Court II in Adamawa state on Monday remanded 2 young men after pleading guilty for stealing a she goat belonging to Adda Jabbi in Jabbi Lamba, Girei Local Government Area.


Sadiq Halid, 20 and Abbas Babangida, 18 were charge to the court for stealing the she goat belonging to Adda Jabbi on 8th January, 2021, in Jabbi Lamba, Girei Local Government Area.


The accused were arraigned before the court on the offence of criminal conspiracy contrary to sections 60 and 276 and punishable under sections 61 and 277 of the state penal code law.


The suspects were alleged to have conspired with one Yauba Mallam Sidi and Babangida Adamu now at large and stole Adda's she goat.


According to prosecution, the suspects brought the meat of the goat to Girei town after slaughtering it in order to dispose it, and subsequently arrested in connection to the alleged offence.


But when the offence as contained in the First Information Report was read and interpreted to the suspects upon their arraignment in court, both of them pleaded guilty to the offence.


Thereafter, the prosecutor, Inspector Wamkai Ngapuro, told the court that the matter is still under investigation so as to possibly effect the arrest of the those at large, and urged the court to adjourn the case to enable them continue with investigation.


The court presided over by Magistrate Ibrahim Uluenda, adjourned the matter to 27th January, 2021, and ordered that the suspects be remanded at Yola correctional service facility till then.
