ADAMAWA POLICE ARREST A NOTORIOUS PICKPOCKET, RECOVER 1MILLION CFA, CAR


 

Police in Adamawa state have arrested a notorious pickpocket and recovered the sum of 1.2million CFA and Volkswagen car (Golf) from the suspect.


The 49 year old Danjuma Muhammed of Aderawo ward in Song Local Government Area in the state was apprehended on the18th March, 2021, in Mubi South LGA.


A statement by the image maker of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Thursday, said that the suspect was nabbed by the operatives of the Command attached to Mubi South Division.


DSP Nguroje explained that the accused was arrested on that fateful day by the operatives while on visibility policing along First Bank road, in Mubi South Local Government Area.


The pickpocket (Dan Sane) according to the statement, trailed his victim, Buba Bello into a tricycle from First Bank and stole the recovered sum of money from his pocket.


Investigation which led to his arrest of the suspect indicated that the suspect was the one terrorising people especially those coming out from the banks, Mubi cattle market and other Business centres.


It was also further learnt that the suspect had been committing similar offences since 2017 in places like Gombi, Song and Bank road in Yola North Local government Areas..


The statement further coveyed the appreciation of  Commissioner of police, CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, to officers and men of Mubi South Division for reclaiming the public space and making it difficult for criminals of such to escape arrest.
