3 ROBBERS WHO STOLE N6.8MILLION FROM YOLA BANK CUSTOMERS ARRESTED



The operatives of the Adamawa State Command attached to Crack Squard have arrested Three (3) suspected armed robbers terrorising customers along bank road in Jimeta Yola and Mubi in the state.


The operatives have recovered a vehicle, N26,000, cash and 2 master keys, 4 handsets among others.


According to the command, the suspects who are indigenes of Jos, Kaduna and Kano states were apprehended by the operatives during confidence building patrol on  the 11th November, 2021.



The suspects include; Sirajo Muhammed, 40, resident of Yankaji, Jos North LGA, Plateau state, Benjamin John, 48, resident of Namso street,Sabon tasha, Kaduna South LGA Kaduna state and Mustapha Abubakar, 45 and hails from zoo road,Kumboso LGA, Kano state.


A release by the image maker of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, which was made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Thursday, said that the suspect specialise in trailing customers after making cash withdrawals from their various banks.


DSP Nguroje, said that the suspects had on 21st Octoberr, 2021 monitored and trailed Hahiya Ajuji Umar, after withdrawing the sum of N2.5million from U B A to a certain house along Tsohon Kasuwa and carted away the said amount from her car few minutes after she parked the vehicle in front of a certain house by using master key. 


He stated that on the 8th November, 2021 and 9th November, 2021 respectively, the same syndicate trailed Abubakar Umar Wambai and Alhaji Yusuf Muhammed who withdrew the sum of N400,000 and 3.9 from Access and Zenith banks where they used master key and spray chemical and stole the money.


According Nguroje, investigation which led to their arrest, revealed that the suspects had been stealing from peoples' cars especially those coming out of banks, cattle markets and other Business centres in and around Yola North and South LGAs since Febuary.


He extended the commendation of the Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmed Barde, to the officers and Men of the "Crack squard" for reclaiming the public space and making it difficult for criminals of such to escape arrest.


He disclosed that the CP further directed that the suspects be arraigned in court on completion of investigation and called on people to always report any suspicious movement around their neighborhoods to police.
