A gang of kidnappers have struck again, abducting the Wife of Adamawa State High Court Judge known as Zainab Abbas.
The incident reportedly occured between the hours of 1:00am to 2:00am on Wednesday at Nyibango, Army Barracks road in Jimeta Yola.
It could be recalled that about 2 weeks ago, a gang of kidnappers stormed the community and whisked away pastors.
In a statement on the abduction of the Wife of the High Court Judge, the Adamawa State Police Command has vowed to rescue the victim.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, said that the command has deployed operatives drawn from the Crack Squad,Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT) for the rescue mission.
The statement which was signed by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM added that the operatives are to carry out tactical and intelligence driven rescue operation.
According to SP Nguroje, the operatives are also expected to raid criminal hideouts and black spots to rescue the victim and arrest the suspects and their collaborators.
"These deployments will surely assist in coordinating timely response to distress calls and to clamp down on those found committing crimes". He explained.
According to him, the command has deployed electronic devices to record pictorial evidences of those involved.
The CP has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations and Deployment to Coordinate the Designed Rescue operation as all DPOs are to adopt stop and search exercise.
It stated that the exercise will ensure total domination of the public space, prevent criminals from escaping as well as arrest of trouble makers.
The Cp while assuring the Command's effort to rescuing the kidnapped victim unharmed, further called on the public to give timely report of any suspicious character around them to the nearest police stations or 08089671313, 08130013347.
