As lawmakers of the Adamawa State House of Assembly give account of their representation in one year, the member representing Michika constituency at the assembly, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, has rolled out some of his remakable achievements recorded on his assumption of office last year..
Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, who is the Chief Whip of the assembly, was among the members representing various constituencies who were inaugurated on the 13th June, 2023 as members of the 8th assembly.
His inauguration followed his landslide victory at the general election which gave him mandate to represent the only constituency which has 16 political wards.
While some constituencies have 6, 10 and 11 political wards respectively, Hon. Michika constituency has the largest wards and inspite of that, the Legislator who is the first timer, was able to reach out to every ward with the dividends of democracy.
Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, who is being described as a gentle and silent achiever, spent about 9 months fighting legal battle over his seat. The battle which he finally won, didn't stop him from delivering on his mandate.
On his assumption of office on the 13th June, 2023, the PDP lawmker and one of the principal officers of the 8th assembly, set the ball rolling by donating 6 cars to his constituents, the gesture which earned him commendations and goodwill messages.
In complementing Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, led "Fresh Air" administration in turning around the standard of education, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, supported his communities by supplying bags of cement for the renovation of public schools to provide conducive learning environment for pupils/students.
The lawmakers didn't stop at the education sector, he also embarked on the renovation of broken boreholes across the 16 wards to provide portable water supply to his constituents. At the moment, the boreholes are functional and providing water to the benefitting communities.
Apart from the rehabilitation of the boreholes, the lawmaker has carried out survey for the drilling of boreholes across the wards. The survey report is ready and work will soon commence in earnest.
He took the bull by the horns by embarking on the construction of 4-bedroom flat for the District Head of Zah and donated a brand new car to the royal father to facilitate his movements. He also constructed a befitting office for the traditional ruler as well as that of the secretary.
More importantly, the teeming farmers in the constituency also benefit from his magnanimity and generosity, as the legislator supports them with cash and sometimes in kind to boost their farm produce for food sufficiency.
For his utmost concern towards the health of his constituents, the member also sponsored the plastic surgery of a male and female at Gombe State Hospital which costs him millions apart from settling other medical bills of other patients as well as supplying of drugs and succeeded in making his representation more people oriented.
As a religious person, the distinguished lawmaker disburses cash to both Christians and Muslim faithful during Christmas and Sallah celebrations and wrappers to the his constituents.
As governments are determined to fight hunger in country, on his part the lawmker has constituted a committee with a mandate to disburse food items across his constituency.
The legislator played a key role by lobbying for the relocation of the College of Health Technology from Mubi to its permanent site in Michika, which the Governor graciously approved its relocation.
Likewise, he lobbied for the upgrading of the institution to College of Health Sciences and Technology. And being one of the ranking legislators, the assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, unanimously granted his request and upgraded the college.
In his comments while celebrating his 1 year anniversary, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah, thanked his electorate for giving him their mandate and promised them a better representation.
He disclosed that he is doing everything possible to provide the change his electorate voted for, and appealed for their support and cooperation to enable him represent them effectively.
The PDP lawmker promised to work hard in order to deliver dividends of dividends of democracy to his electorate which according to him, will be spread across all the 16 political wards in his constituency.
He used the opportunity and applauded Governor Fintiri's support to the lawmakers, saying his achievements as a legislator was made possible by the Governor; hence, his commitment to copy his style of leadership.
He commended Governor Fintiri led administration for transforming the state through the provision of infrastructure, and pledged the readiness of his constituents towards supporting his government.
