A new bill for the appointment and deposition of Chiefs in Adamawa state on Monday, scaled 1st and 2nd reading at the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
The accelerated reading of the bill followed separate motions by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Ahmed Jingi Belel (Maiha) and seconded by Hon. Moses Yerima Zah (Michika) and Hon. Bauna Myandssa (Lamurde)
The bill is tagged" A bill for a law to provide for the Adamawa State Chiefs (Appointment and Deposition) and matters incidental thereto" was forwarded to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
In his letter, Governor Fintiri prayed the hallowed to legislate on the new bill.
After the reading of the bill, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, referred it to the House Committee on Local Government Affairs for legislative action.
Equally, Rt. Hon. Bathiya directed the committee to submit its report at the next legislative day.
