TRAINING: Electorate Commend Sen Iya Abbas for Supporting Agric Devt



Cross section of beneficiaries at capacity building have commended Sen. Aminu Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central for supporting agricultural development.


The beneficiaries made the commendation at the end of the training organised by the Senator for his electorate across 7 LGAs which comprise Adamawa Central Senatorial District. 


The training which focused on Technology Skills Transfer on Innovation Technologies Evaluation and Preservation of Agro Produce was participated with no fewer than 100 beneficiaries.


It was held at the Nigeria Union of Teachers' House in Yola, Adamawa State, and conducted by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) in collaboration with MAKPLAN Global Investment Nigeria Ltd.


Speaking during the event, Sen. Iya Abbas, who was represented by Mallam Adamu Babikkoi Adamu PhD, explained that the participants were equipped not only with technical skills in mordern farming but also with practical knowledge of the biotechnology. 


He expressed optimism that the training would empower beneficiaries to become self-sufficient and contribute meaningfully to Adamawa agriculture snd economic sectors.


On his part, Salihu Umar Babayi, NBTI representative, described the programme as a rare opportunity and commended Sen Iya Abbas for always prioritizing the empowerment of his constituents, urging him not to relent in the good work he has been doing.


He assured the participants that beyond the training, they would be empowered with resources to put their new skills into practice.


Addressing the participants, the Managing Director, Makplan Global Investment Limited Dr. Kabir Dan Maliki, appealed to the participants to use knowledge acquired during the training for the benefit of the district, noting that it would improve their farming practices and enhance their livelihoods.


Speaking separately during an interview with newsmen shortly after the training Mr. Jonathan Nathan from Hong local government Ummulkhari Mohammed from Yola North while expressing their gratitude, praised Sen. Abbas’s effort in supporting local agriculture and enhancing economic empowerment in Adamawa Central. 


They noted that the skills and resources acquired during training will enable them to become self-employed and create new sources of income.


Another participant, Mrs. Rifkatu John noted on the first day of the training that she had gained insights into best practices mordern farming, effective horticulture techniques, and strategies for maximizing yield and profitability.


They prayed God to grant the Senator more wisdom and success as he continues to serve the people of Adamawa Central effectively.
