Bill to Create Districts in Adamawa Scales 2nd Reading at ADHA



A bill for a law to repeal and re-enact the Adamawa State Districts Creation Law, 2024, has scaled 1st and 2nd readings at the Adamawa State House of Assembly. News Platform


The bill scaled 1st and 2nd readings at the House of Assembly on Monday, sequel to a motion by the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno of Demsa constituency.


After accelerated readings of the bill, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, referred it to the House Committee on Local Government Affairs for further legislative action.


The Speaker mandated the committee to submit its report at the next legislative day.


The bill tagged, "A bill for a Law to repeal and re-enact the Adamawa State Districts Creation Law, 2024 and to provide for matters incidental thereto", was forwarded to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. 


Governor Fintiri in a letter, appealed to the lawmakers to consider the bill and pass it.
