An Abuja based Non-governmental Organisation, Advocacy for Peace and Value Reorientation has presented Certificate of Integrity Stewardship to the Director General Adamawa State Bureau of Public Procurement, ADSBPP, Mr Markus Joseph.
Equally, the organisation inducted the DG as Service Ambassador in recognition of his track record and ethical integrity in the discharge of his official mandate.
More so, the organisation has honoured 4 Directors for their dedication, saying that the honour done to the DG as well as the Directors will spur them to put in their best in their service to the state.
Speaking while presenting the certificate to the DG, the Executive Director of the organization, Comr. Abubakar A. Oyibo, congratulated the DG and the Directors for the honour done to them.
Oyibo, said that the objectives of the NGO is to engage, identify, monitor and select government ministries, departments and agencies for special recognition on professional and ethical responsibilities among others.
According to him, it was after rigorous assessment that the NGO found it necessary to present the certificate of integrity to the DG and his management team in recognition of their selfless service in instilling transparency and accountability in the procurement process and procedures.
He explained that the DG in particular was honoured for ensuring due diligence, transparency and accountability in benchmarking the procurement process of the government in all sectors and described him as a man of proven integrity.
He further explained that the DG stands tall in the northeast region when it comes to display of ethical values which helped the present administration in providing critical infrastructure, youth empowerment among others.
Responding, the DG of the Bureau, Mr. Joseph Markus, thanked the NGO for finding him and his management team worthy for the award, and dedicated it to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the opportunity given him to serve in that capacity.
Mr. Joseph Markus, said that the award would not come without the political will and support given to the bureau by the present administration which according to him has enabled him discharge the mandate in line with the provisions of the BPP law 2020 as amended.
Mr. Joseph Markus, appreciated the NGO for the honour and charged it not to relent in working towards ensuring a corrupt free society, promote ethical leadership and awaken the spirit of service amongst citizens especially those in public offices.
The DG therefore used the occasion and commend led the staff and management team of the bureau for the loyalty and support demostrated in discharging their duties of the bureau, and urged them to sustain the tempo.
In his vote of thanks, the Secretary of the bureau, Barr. Khalid Musa, applauded the NGO for the recognition, assured it of their commitment to benchmarking all procurements made by government in line with the laws.
