Christmas: Police Beef up Security, Ban Use of Knockout in Adamawa



The Adamawa State Police Command in collaboration with sister security agencies have beefed up security ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.


A release by the Spokesman of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the security agencies are well prepared to ensure security of lives and property before, during and after yuletide.


SP Nguroje said that the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has directed all Divisional Police Officers, Head of Departments, Tactical Commanders and Area Commanders to personally lead the security deployment in their Areas of Responsibilities (AOR).


He said that the CP had ordered for adequate security at places of worship, event centres, residential areas and recreational facilities.


According to him, the security agencies will carry out stop and search operations at all entry roads, 24/7 visibility and vehicular patrols, effective traffic/crowth control for free flow of traffic and surveillance and information  gathering for effective policing. 


"The command equally advised members of the public to give timely information or report any suspicious movement around them to police.


He added that the command has banned the use of fireworks/ firecracker, coovered number plates, unauthorized use of siren.
