FCE YOLA APOLOGISES OVER SELLING OF FAKE ADMISSION FORMS, OFFERS TO REFUND MONIES TO VICTIMS

The Management of the Federal College of Education, Yola, Adamawa State on Monday, apologised to the general public over selling of admission forms for unapproved and non-exiting undergraduate programmes following investigative report by NEWS PLATFORM Yesterday.

It could be recalled that the NEWS PLATFORM exclusively reported Yesterday that the College had sold thousands of ‘admission’ forms to unsuspecting prospective candidates for unapproved and non-existing degree programmes in the institution.

The College in press release issued by the Head of Information and Protocol Unit, Takason N. Kloso, said that the new degree admission forms it had earlier advertised and sold forms to the unsuspecting candidates for the 2021/2022 academic session was no longer feasible.

The press release further called on affected candidates to submit to the College Bursary Department located in Yola, their bank account details and proof of payment for refunds.

The release said, “The Federal College of Education, Yola regrets to inform candidates who had obtained application forms for admission into new degree programmes that it is not feasible to conduct admission during the 2021/2022 session,

“Accordingly, affected candidates are requested to submit to the Bursary Department of the College, their bank account details and proof of payment for refunds.”

It did not however disclose how victims of the fake admission who resides outside the state or the state capital are to submit such evidence of payment in view of the long distance, security concerns and expensive transportation fares.

The College Bursar, Ahmed Mohammed did not respond to messages sent to his telephone lines on the concerns expressed by victims on the inconveniences caused them.
